I am looking to grow a couple plants in soil. Will a 32" x 32"x 62" tent be sufficient? I see mention of using 5 gallon buckets to grow in, can I just grow them all together in in the same large pot? If I did the math correctly, I have 37 cubic meters, any exhaust recommendations?
I just grew 6 in a tent 39x39X72. Don’t suggest it but did it. Was too crowded. Almost finished & starting new grow with 3-4 this round. Couldn’t get full potential from each plant as they fought for lighting even with side lighting.
@dmykins I tried that once just to see and by my he time I went into flower I couldn’t keep the soil wet to save my life, and knowing what each plant should have produced because they were clones of another plant I just harvested. Let’s just say it was bad like real bad. But it was fun just to experiment .
First time grower here, and what I have learned is that 15 plants in a 4X5 area is too many… I’m not even out of Veg yet. Also, whatever lighting you think you need DOUBLE it. Never can have too much. I’ve been thouroughly eduacated through this site, and that’s the best thing i realized. Never too much light. (Unless they’re still seedlings) Wish I would have known this before i started 15 of them… I’m on week 7 from sprout, and I need to purchase more lighting.
I will keep that in mind. I am going to set up my tent this weekend and see how bright it is and the temps inside the tent while I wait for my seeds. Can you point me in the direction of what type of pot you grew them in?
I purchased these. Off brand “smart pot” air prunes the roots to keep from getting root bound. These are 5gallon sized.

They were more affordable than plastic containers from local store anyways.
A lot of people do, but they like a little bit of heat, and a lot of humidity. I started mine in a humidome, with a seedling heater mat under it. If you do start them in a pot, you should put a 3-4" plastic ring around it to keep moisture in a little. And a plastic bag works for your miniature humidome. A lot of people have good results this way. Then just pull the ring out when they get big enough. Less (or no) transplant shock that way. When I transplanted, I saw no negative effects, just be sure to water them in thoroughly. I guess that’s my landscaping experience talking.
Ah, I am not a professional landscaper, but I would say I have a pretty decent green thumb. What about the pots that you can start a seed in and then you can plant the whole pot and it breaks down? Is that also a feasible option?
Also planning first time Tent setup, I’m looking for good advise on brands or kinds of Charcoal filters or which filter would work best for a 39 “x 39” x 6.6’ tent for quality smell control as well as how to best keep it regulated for heat with using LED lighting. It will be in an attic where temps will fluctuate around the tent. Would this size tent also yield more as a regular grow or SCROG? Im planning to run approx 900W in it with a 3 led light system.
Also odor eliminators, is there products to place outside the tent to help maintain a good room smell as well for when i do open the door?
If someone is also out there and willing to mentor over email, it would be much appreciated!
Thanks!!!
