Any way to prevent helmet head? Planting depth have something to do with it?

Mist the seedling as it pops the soil, or use a medicine dropper and distilled water. It will soften the Helmand it will usually fall off. If not, wet helmet and gently pick the helmet off with a toothpick or similar.
