Seedling 🌱 just broke the surface of my FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil

My white wedding feminized auto just broke the surface of my ffof soil and I have my vs1000
150w light at 25% and 24" above the newborn seeding. It was at 100% to keep the tent warm. That’s why I think it is laying down. I just noticed that it went from seed to seedling this morning.

It is lying down because it is overwatered. A seedling should only get a couple ml of water per day to prevent damping off (root rot.) I’d let that soil dry out before watering again. The wet/dry cycles are necessary for good root health.

Thank you. It was dry this morning when I first noticed it so I just sprayed a little water around it.. I appreciate your advice and I will continue to rely on all of the information provided by everyone on this grow. I have another wedding cake auto still soaking waiting for it to germinate. As well as a jealousy fast photoperiod seed in a 1 gallon plastic container waiting for it to germinate. Thanks again for any all information provided

Over watering is a real concern at first for seedlings.
But you mentioned it had only broken ground this morning and I assume that picture was taken this morning.

I mention this because seedlings pop out yellow and they start from a “laying” position and stand up as they turn green..

What does it look like now that’s it been above ground a few hours?

Hopefully it’s more green and standing up more by now or will be soon..

If it still looks the same tomorrow then could be an issue somewhere :man_shrugging:

Don’t start your seedling in ocean Forrest.
Make a pocket of happy frog FF to start the seedlings. It’s not as hot as ocean Forrest.
Water away from the stem.
You shouldn’t have lights going during germinating. What are you doing?

Both are on day 8
The taller one is the wedding cake auto in a 1 gallon plastic container filled with FFOF under 150watt vivosun full spectrum light 50% power at 24" away from the canopy at 250ppfd
The shorter of the two is the Jealousy Fast photoperiod it’s under a cheap full spectrum LED light at 24" and also at 250ppfd
FFOF soil 5 gallon fabric pot sitting on an AC infinity auto pot wicking system
Temperature in the tent at 75°F with RH of 39%.. I don’t have a humidifier yet or a fan inside the tent other than the carbon filter fan. I was wondering if I should open the vent on the bottom of the tent to bring in fresh air to circulate the air inside. If I do then I’ll probably lose what little humidity I have in the tent

Do they need CalMag? And what line of nutrients do y’all recommend? They are both on day 19 since sprouting from the ffof soil and they are under vivosun 100watt lights at 100% power and 24" distance from the canopy
Any and all recommendations and helpful information is greatly appreciated . The bigger plant with the fatter leaves is a Jealousy Fast cultivar from seedsman and the smaller more petite plant is a Wedding Cake auto flower from Atlas seeds. I transplanted the wedding cake auto from a 1 gallon plastic pot to the 5gallon fabric pot on Day 12 .So far it is looking like it’s happy after the transplant
