Seedling fertilization

First time poster here. I just have a simple question. I am starting some seed and want to know if I should be using any type of low dose fertilizer on my seedlings until they get a couple weeks old? I’m just using a simple soil with no added fertilizers.

Everything I could find says to just wait and let the plant use up its nutrients it has left over from seed and whatever nutes are in the soil. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
Need to know the Brand and specific soil you are using…,
Or a pic of the bag.

the soil is put together and bagged by a local mulch company

Then just watch it for signs of needing food. Yellowing leaves will be your indication.
You can slurry test some and see what your PPMs are.
DO you have a PPM meter and a PH tester?

I do have a ph tester. about to test it

TDS meter, Total Dissolved Solids or Parts Per Million meter.
Measures the mineral content in water.
Will tell you the food content left in the soil.
Cheap ones work just fine. I spent 10 bucks on one 5 years ago and still use it.

You want to see about 800 to 1000 ppm in the soil.
Once it drops below then you need to feed.

Hopefully but prolly not, it is cannabis friendly.

Even if your soil is void of nutes, you will not have to feed her for 2 weeks. The coty’s have what she needs to begin her journey.

Cotyledon leaves serve as nutrient reservoirs, storing essential substances vital for the plant’s early growth.

As the plant transitions from relying on the nutrients within the seed to establishing its root system, these reservoirs act as a lifeline, supplying the plant with the necessary elements for sustained development. In this dual capacity as protectors and nutrient providers, cotyledon leaves contribute significantly to the resilience and vitality of plants during their critical early life stages.
