Seed storage long term

G’day , just wondering what is the best method to store your seeds between grows . I’m currently using something like a padded postage envolope with the seeds inside of it . Then placed in an old ice cream tub / bucket . Which is placed at the bottom of my fridge .

. Am i doing the right thing or have I just killed my seeds . Advice wanted please help

Looks like what most people suggest, you could even throw in a boveda pack or integra boost pack if you wanted to be over cautious. I think you’ll be perfectly fine like this though.

Fridge has always worked for me! I usually just leave them in the package they come in.

@Kan72 you definitely do not want a Boveda pack in with seeds.
What you’re looking for is a silica pack that absorbs moisture. Not adds.
You want to keep the seeds as dry as possible. Cold and dark too.
I have multiple silica packs in with my seeds. @Dbpooper

Shit you’re absolutely right on that one dont know what I was thinking… Take away the moisture not add it, note taken, stored, and processed lol MY BAD guys I had a moment I promise I wasn’t trying to steer ya wrong!!

Menstrual pads and baby diapers also contain acrylic acid, an effective desiccant.

Unless you remove enough moisture from the seeds, freezing them can damage the seeds. They’re also prone to condensation in a fridge/freezer.

I use an airtight jar with desiccant packs.

I have had issues with seed storage as purchase more than I can grow in a season. After reading guides and blog this is my process starting with small black glass container following pics.

I purchase high quality airtight Infinity glass jars which come in various
sizes. Will update on success or failure. Hope this helps for those with similiar issues.
