Have any of you heard of or seen this? Is there any merit or just BS. I’m going to test it. I now have 43 purple trainwreck seed. I am ordering a loupe from Amazon. I’m going to inspect and separate seeds by this method. I’m going to plant 5/5 of each. After the smallest one is small enough to flower I will flip them and see the results. If the results are in line with this theory I will do another 5/5. I will continue this until I am out of seeds. I will post weekly pics of the process begining with the seed ID all the way to the sexing period. All Bill Nye and .
Love it I’ll be watching
I’m in , kool, you’ll be surprised,
I’m set to watch
I have seen this too and was always curious about it. Keep us posted.
Definitely interested to hear about this and if it is true I have some ak47 and Girl Scout cookies that got cross pollinated and have over 1000 seeds that I won’t plant because I’ve had terrible luck with Hermes I bought seed soak and still got a hermaphrodite lucky I’ve become really good at finding them now
I read about it over on growweedeasy and they said it’s bullshit
I never had any luck… so now I just grow regs three at a time when I want a male.
I am 100% with picking females with it so far. I have only done 5. But I have a friend that goes by that and also has picked out females for her grows. The last I did was one for @Myfriendis410 and it just showed it is a female too. I choose the ones with with a perfect circle to use. To get an idea what you are looking for. Check out a few female seeds you have bought. If I see any that look female but are not perfect. I put them a side as maybes. All the others go into a bag I call males and use them for test seeds. So for me. it works pretty good.
I’m a skeptical person by nature, but this one I think there may be some truth to.
I think “the perfect volcano” is more important to look for than the “football” shape.
I’ve been doing some fem on fem pollination (I know, sounds hot) which should produce fem seeds and 99.9% of the seeds produced have perfect volcano ends.
Although I admit, the proof is in the grow. I have hundreds of those seeds so I’m not sure I’ll ever know!
Out of 30 bag seeds I fully grew to maturity only 3 were males i know at young age environmental factors contribute to the sex of a plant cool easy conditions tend to have female but harsh hot conditions it’s more 5050
I myself have had a 90% ratio female to males picking the volcano end, don’t take my word for it, try it with some bag seeds yourself, you’ll be amazed!! Wating for results!!
I got 600 bad seed I’ll let ya no I through 8 regs 6 popped and theree looking female so far none growing supr faster yhen other like makes usually do to get there pollen above the females
Im going to separate my seeds by male female as soon as my loupe comes in and post pics to verify that I am seperating them correctly. Then the fun begins.
I feel that’s bogus claim the shape of the seed and since ALOT of factor can hermaphrodite a plant I don’t think it has anything to do with seed shape I firmly believe it’s an environment thing mostly think about in nature when a plant is naturally grown it grows up creative flower a male is very close by probably inches away because it grew from the same seed pod you know same Bud that had a bunch of seeds sprouted right next to it female you know it got pollinated and the reason why that mail was there was because there’s probably 5000 plants there and there’s very low oxygen very little are going through the plants there’s probably preheat you know because of No Air and that caused that one Center plan to be a male witch pollinated all the females you know that’s that’s probably the way Nature Made it work the innermost plant the one getting the worst conditions you know least amount of space Roots all bound up with other routes will be the mail I think any plant has a tendency to be a male if grown a certain way
The shape of the seed is determined by how tightly the pod is packed. When the seed is forming, its shell is no stronger than a leaf. So as multiple seeds develop next to each other they will squish each other and form that oblong shape. When I see a single seed in a pod, it tends to look like a uniform oval…like it hasn’t had siblings fighting it for space.
Technically the sex of the plant never changes. We just use various methods (stress, silver, rodelization) to disrupt the normal flow of reproductive hormones creating pollen. Colloidal silver method is just intentional hermie. And if you KNOW you have a fem plant but accidentally stress her to hermie, you can probably use those seeds.
I will be ordering my loupe tomorrow. @Mrcrabs @Not2SureYet since you two have done it can you give me some advice on seperating them properly. Details perhaps that the instructions above don’t tell me.
Instruction got you covered that’s what I look for👍
@RandomlyRan, I use this chart. it has not failed me yet. Also, If you take a look at some seeds you know are female. You get a good idea of what breeders females look like. I hope this helps
