Those all look the same so I don’t know what’s your seeing in your seeds… or if your yet to EVER grow a male yet… when u buy feminized seeds y would u grow anything but females if your trying to optimize environment so… I think that chart is bs … and don’t think you’ve done a single regular seed grow to whereby had to sex the plants because there ain’t no way to tell until the plant is mature u can kinda guess on plant growth rates. Makes do grow a lil faster to get there pollen above the females and rain the pollen on them but other then that I feel ever seed has tendency to be male or female

Ok. I have my loupe. I’m going to clear a space today and go thru the Trainwreck seeds to see how they measure up. I will post loupe pics of viable candidates.

@fano_man, Take it for what it is worth. I have done them for my self and got all females. I did @Myfriendis410 s that he is growing right now, and his is a female. @seedplanter1 in the lab has another strain growing that I checked before sending to him. And it just showed it is a female. The difference is pretty clear. I sexed an ASC I got from @Bogleg, grew it out and it was a female They were regulars. I have a diary for that as well. My GS was regular. I have a diary for it. I am 100% sold that I can choose females using the above chart. That is just my 02 though We all do what works for us

Ok, so it begins. I’ve had to ammend my experiment. I examined all the seeds with 30x and divided into female/male/maybe piles. I went back over my female/maybe piles with 60x. I came up with 4 seeds that fit the female indicators perfectly. That’s right on par with the 1 in 10 ratio almost. I had 4/53 viable.
I will label them and germinate them tomorrow. I will post more pics with close up of divot before germination.
Since I only have four my ammendment to the experiment is I will run these four alone and see what they sex out as.

Good luck with them all being female. it sounds like you did it right. I just did some I got the other night. Some times you get more. Other times less. I got 2 out of 10 that are pretty sures. Most didn’t even show a sex. They were from a friend. I had another where 3 out of 6 are female. And some times you just come up empty handed

Maybe you have guessed the “females” and gave them optimal conditions probally because u went. Through the time of getting a 60x mag out … lemme ask you a question… have you ever selectively grown any males on purpose or do you just go ah pop I was wrong 1 out of 10… I’m willing to bet you haven’t targeted a male and if so you should be a breeder if your on point like thay
All the seeds were stored the same. No seed had optimal conditions over the other. I use the above method to seperate them to see if sex can be determined as a seed. I can’t say with 100% accuracy that it is or isn’t true. That’s the point of the experiment. I’ve noticed your not a believer in this method. Have you tried this method? How did you come to your opinion?
No Im not a breeder so I have no use for a male. That’s kinda the point of this experiment. If it works then I’m not wasting time and resources growing something with no yield.

I’m set to watching I’m bringing back some old school classics like Panama red, Acapulco gold and some weird stuff from the 80’s lol. I can’t wait to try this out so i can have regular seeds and then feminized seeds of each strain and i can do both at the same time and keep the male’s separate, I’m learning from you guys so keep up the good work and the experiments going

Starting germination at 7 pm 9-18-18
I usually get germ in 36-48 hours. As soon as they pop I will update.
Edit 3 came from my maybe piles. I will keep an eye on it.

happy Aniversarry @fano_man I my self have never grown a male more than a week or so. I use them for testing different germination meatheads, then they go into the trash. I don’t grow males because I have no use for them my self. If you are interested. I can drop one I think would be a male and female. Grow them for 3 weeks then flip them. And show their sex. I will have a free tent in a couple weeks and can finish them in there.

True to from (for me) after 36 hrs I have tails.
Once they get a bit longer (tomorrow @ 7 A.M. probably) I will place them in starter plugs in small clear cups propogated with hydroton

If you have one seed you are convinced it’s a male from this method I would like to see a male selectively grown …you dont have to let it flourish or give it nutes your gonna get rid of it in wanna just see you gauruntee a male and get 1 … i dont think that’s possible I just dont … @ThcinKC u I’m looking for Colombian gold and Panama red as well but I’m also looking for some crazy strains like high school sweet heart or mendo breath

After I sex these four I am going to do four from the “male pile” to test just that. I will say the hard part is judging the divot to see if it’s round. Something perfectly round doesn’t look round unless your looking directly down on it. If the seed is tilted one way then what’s round appears oblong. Perspective and all that.

They were ready sooner than I expected. So I have my washed hydroton, starter plugs, small and large cups, inside of an ink pen and of course sprouted seeds
I place the seed in the top of the hole and use the inside from the ink pen to push the seed in the plug.
I placed the starter plugs in the small cup on a bed of hydroton and fill the sides almost to the top of the plug
I labeled them 1-4
Then I mist the inside of the large cups and place them up side down over the small cups
When I see them push out of the plug forcing off the hull and exposing the cotyledon I will post more pics.
