I think I remember using the yuca to help the coco absorb and hold the moisture better. ![]()
I use it for that reason and it makes water wetter and that just sounds cool
Plus it helps nutrient uptake

I know I’m old and have senior moments, but the back of my mind I think I remember @Budbrother saying something about it raises or lowers it also, but I could be totally wrong
That I don’t remember. But I e been high a few times since then lol.
I think he was saying something about it works with something else to lower it. I don’t think the yucca does it by itself ![]()

I bet you have a tiny buzz right now ![]()
I’ve cut my nutes back a whole lot for the final week, and PH is at 6.44, in hydro it should be 5.25 to 6.25 and I hate using ph up or down, only as a last resort, but I did get the PPM down to 770
Your ph can go as high as 6.5 it’s in the proper range. Just 5.8 is kinda the sweet spot.
5.5-6.5 is the total range ![]()

And at the end of flower last few weeks stay 6.5 and it helps with some color ![]()

Next grow I will try that, too late for this one lol
And if you get your lights out temps down to lower 60’s in the final few weeks it helps bring out the colors as well. ![]()

Thanks, I’ve decided to only grow in the fall, winter and spring, going to take the summers off so temps should be easier to maintain
Yucca lowers
Thank you sir, appreciate you
Has anyone used the Strive Nutes? They sure make a good sales pitch, but don’t know if they are any better.
@kaptain3d @dbrn32 @merlin44 @Lightbrightt2010 @Dman1969 @Budbrother @StonedCold13 @Growdoc
Thanks for the tag @Mntmannw. I have not used Strive Nutes. I started with FF Trio and now use Roots Organic dry nutrients.
I have not but I’m been looking it to trying them myself.
I haven’t tried them… And I will never try them.
A couple of years ago on IG, a grower was doing a giveaway in collaboration with Strive. The giveaway had been going on for a week and I, for reasons unexplained, was the only entry. Normally that grower had lots of interactions in her posts and giveaways… but it was like being in the desert for that particular giveaway. With another 2 weeks to go to the giveaway, Strive just pulled out without any explanation or excuses. The person doing the giveaway was super embarassed and sad about it, but nothing she could do. So she gave me the full prize minus the nutrients.
After that I contacted Strive and tried to find out what or why they ran away. For the following months they were spamming me to try their nutrients, saying how much better they were from anybody else but absolutely refusing to address their behavior.
And understand me, I don’t care if I didn’t get their nutrients prize, but I was surprised and disappointed by their lack of communication and money grabbing tactics.

I haven’t used them but for the most part , minerals are minerals and plants don’t care where they come from as long as it’s in a form they can use. Some companies chelate theirs to make them usable over a wider PH range, such as AN PH Perfect line. Some mix easier, some appear cleaner, Jacks and MC1 are tough to beat for cleanliness and cost. I saw a breakdown of cost per gallon of nute mix, jacks was cheapest, closely followed by MC1, all the others were two to 5 times the cost of Jacks.
Here’s a grow journaled here with Strive nutrients… :
