Im going a different route only using Everclear to eash my press bags. In my baking i have infused coconut oil i infused 56oz of oil and used 4z of flower and bowl trimmings. @Caligurl has you connected for more of what your doing Growmie, thanks for the tag. Its all the same but different. Lol

I was born and raised in a small town 45 miles east of Portland Oregon, but on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge, other then the Marine Corps, I spent my whole life in that area until 12 years ago I moved out east.

Well kind of but not really, I’m about an hour west of Asheville and about an hour east of Gatlinburg. Only 15 minutes away from the Cherokee reservation.

Went to trim a little on the ladies this morning, and didn’t expect them to be as sticky as they were, lol had to get rubbing alcohol to get it off my hands and arms

Day 42 since flip, so about day 32 of bloom. Ladies got their last big trim, well most of them, almost done. Got smarter this morning, wore disposable gloves and a long sleeve shirt lol.
Still getting foxtailing, thinking I may be over lighting. I’ve cranked them down to about 650-700 umol’s.
Two OreoZ’s, two Girl Scout cookies extreme, one blue dream and one tropicana cookies
I did not get a single pic of the one I haven’t got to yet, hopefully get it done tomorrow morning

My next adventure; tincture. Over the last 3 years, my extra shake I didn’t use went into quart canning jars, and into the freezer. Decided I needed that freezer space back, so thanks to @Caligurl im going to make tincture out of the 5-6 pounds of shake. So I can stop doing MTC and coconut oil. I will know the exact potency of each edible by how many I end up with as 1 gram of tincture is about 700-750 of THC.
Just need to figure out ( trial and error) where I was before with infusing into oil, taste test is the only way I know as different strains have different THC %, and I always used 2 1/2 oz’s per 4 cups of oil. Got enough 190 proof to do a few batch’s to get started. Wish me luck. Lol

Good luck! For my edibles, I dry sift my trim and then run that to make qwet. I don’t have room to store any trim either LOL. I also use any old buds, any over-dried buds, etc… I mix everything together so it’s always a hybrid LOL
The great thing about qwet is you don’t need to know the beginning % of thc… it all boils down to 750-800 mg per gram. So 1 ounce of a low thc strain will just produce less end product than 1 ounces of a high thc strain

Starting with 6.4 ounces of black widow for my 1st attempt.
Once done I will use the magical butter plunger to extract the last, and probably run it through 3 times. 1st time just using the plunger, second time put a cheesecloth inside the plunger, and final strain, thinking about a 2 ply coffee filter.
What is the shelf life of the finished product?
Can it be freeze dried?

Second thought, that’s a lot to go through my plunger, so I split it up between 4 quart jars about an ounce and a half each, but when finished it will all go on one tray

The bottom is threaded, and screws right onto a wide mouth mason jar. I haven’t used it yet, but have read a lot of positive feedback, most posts say the customer service is excellent.

I’ve had the concentrate in my fridge in a silicon dab container, then in a freezer bag for a little over a year. I keep it in one of the crisper drawers set on low humidity. I’ve heard people freeze it too.

Freeze driers take 100% of the moisture out, it’s how they store food, candy etc for (they say) 25 to 30 years without refrigeration. Has to be stored in Mylar bags or some other airtight container with oxygen absorbers.
Just didn’t know if it would be a good idea to freeze dry the wax for long term storage

I’ve heard about freeze drying rosin… not sure about the alcohol extract… should be the same ? I don’t have a solid answer.
