Right that’s what i expect as well…im curious if you were growing reg fems also side by side with autos…would it work…because you would basically be on the light regimen for the longer fem grow not the shorter auto grow…
which in my case the light would be on veg mode the whole time because of the fem plants
would the autos flower properly even if the flower switch isnt on (just the veg)
You should be running both switches on the whole way through. Every auto I’ve grown took around 16 weeks.
Wow really?!
Every single thing ive read says about 10 weeks for autos…thats the whole point of em from what i understand…half the time for multiple harvests…all reg fems are 15-20 weeks
Maybe if you were growing them with reg fems they were mimicking the fems…idk if thats possible or not
so you have both the flower and veg switch on the whole time? just with autos or fems too? … well i guess it would be fems too if you grew them together…having the flower switch on during veg mode doesn’t matter?
I too my autos and use the scrip method as well. Works for me
These are in week 12 and are auto but still not quite ready.
Wow very nice looking…well whatever i dont care if they do take longer i guess as long as they turn out good so i guess time will tell…hopefully only 9 more weeks to harvest for me lol
I think I’ll wait another week or two. Then I’ll cover the soil with ice and start a 48hr dark period then chop :). Happy growing!!
The whole thing will be a learning experience for me…seeking info and input the whole way so hopefully i do ok
You should have them both on no matter what you’re growing. The veg/bloom switch lights are real gimmicky. Give them everything that light can, both switches on. Maybe run the blue spectrum (veg switch) for the few weeks as seedlings but flip them all on when you start vegging.
Not all autos will go that long, that’s just what mine have gone.
Whats the ice part for?
The ice is supposed to help them force finish. So is drilling the stalk and leaving them in the dark for days. I’ve tried them all and they haven’t made any difference from chopping them normally. I don’t discourage you from trying it, just in my experience it was just some hocus pocus.
I read that drilling, cutting, damaging the stalk shortly before harvest basically puts the plant into overdrive creating more potent results
The theory is that is causes the plant to up its defenses and produce new trichomes. Well new trichomes are clear. You have now taken your cloudy/amber trichomed plant, that you’ve been working on for months to get that way and added clear, immature trichomes to it. The logic isn’t there.
Yeah that makes sense …in the sense of not to do it i mean…i suppose in theory it could be done while tri’s are clear still but then risk fn up ur plant altogether…yeah idk just stating what i read lol
im a welder by trade so im all about tinkering and fn around with things …tweaking things…not saying ill get too crazy on my first actual grow attempt but my brain is always running lol
I’m a tinkerer as well. I reverse engineer things to find out how they work. That’s why I’m not saying don’t experiment. I’m just relaying what I’ve tried and experienced. None of the techniques hurt anything. But it didn’t do anything either. Definitely do your own experiment so when a topic like that comes up around here (and it does often), you can give your input on your experience.
