Runoff numbers autoflowers

Hi growmies
Im growing in 7 gallons fabric pots, organic nutrients and autoflowers.

At what stage of the plant should i start aiming for 2.0 EC runoff?

They are 3 weeks old today but i have not watered till runoff yet but soon i will

Don’t bother with PPM if growing purely organic.

You can’t go by PPM or TDS in organic, the numbers would scare you but all of the nutrients aren’t readily available in organics. @Budbrother might chime in, I’m in coco and Promix, he can explain better than I can.

It is bottle nutrients i use. Before i started measuring my runoff. I think i was giving to much nutrients. Because back then i was getting salt buildup. And the outside of my fabric pots was getting white. And now when i water till runoff and try to aim for EC 2.0 the outside of my pots are still black.

I used to buy new soil for each new grow. But for this run i try to reuse my soil. I just added wormcasting and giving some enzymes when water.

With new soil, my runoff was higher than EC 2.0. So i was waiting for the runoff to get below EC 2.0

Ok, I understand now, your still feeding nutes, so yes, aim for 900-1000 ppm in the medium.

But at what stage should i aim for that? From first time i water till runoff?

Check your runoff next feed/water, let me know what it is and I’ll recommend the next feed EC and ph, you can’t make one adjustment and done , you have to take smaller steps and coax them to the range you want them. I’m in coco, but I have worked mine up from .4 EC to present at 2.0 and once I got them there , I figured what’s EC to feed them at to keep my numbers almost the same at every runoff event, which is every day with coco.

Hi again :call_me_hand:
So now i have done my first runoff👍
And maybe i did a bit to much runoff…
Roughly 40% runoff on each plant.

Copenhagen butter : In - ec 0.5 ph 6.4 -Out - ec 2.3 ph 5.8

Strawberry gorilla : In - ec 0.5 ph 6.4 - Out - ec 2.4 ph 6.1

Durban poison : In - ec 0.5 ph 6.4 - Out - ec 2.3 ph 6.1

Blueberry cheese : In - ec 0.5 ph 6.4 - Out - ec 2.3 ph 5.8

StrawNana : In - ec 0.5 ph 6.4 - Out - ec 1.6 ph 6.1

Sherbanger : In - ec 0.5 ph 6.4 - Out - ec 1.7 ph 6.1

They are all 25 days old. The Strawberry gorilla, durban poison and the strawnana just hit preflower :love_you_gesture:

Couple are a bit low on ph, but for soil, numbers aren’t terrible. I would back off EC until numbers come under 2.0 EC or 1000 ppm, then resume light feeding and watch numbers to see if rising, falling or steady. When you get them to where you feed them the same numbers going in and the out stays steady and in line, you have them dialed in. Or, you could water, feed, water, feed….

Okay cool👍 i like the first way you describe it. So what about the two plants that are ec 1.6 and 1.7 out should i just keep feeding them ec 0.5 for now or go a little higher?

You can bump those up some, just do it over a couple feeds, not all at once.
