Round 2x2 ❄️ North to Alaska

Well only way I know is to get more water into the air in the tent.
That involves using some type of humidifier. Some here use evaporative units.
I purchased my 5 disc humidifier from house of hydro and with their kit I used 5 gallon buckets and some black 4” duct hose and a metal 4” swivel 90 elbow and a starter piece goes into lid of bucket and made them.

Currently have one on each side of my 5x8x7 tent as one couldn’t keep up when temps outside were near zero. Was going through 8-9 gallons a day then.
This week has been warmer (50’s) and only going through a couple gallons a day.

You mean like this haha
Outside of tent walls

What happened last year when I neglected to turn on my dehumidifier in basement most of last summer.
Just left it on there. Mold spores are everywhere can’t eliminate only mitigate.

That is super neat!! I have to keep everything on the DL lol. Still frowned upon here :face_with_diagonal_mouth: my whole operation can be hidden my closeing the closet door.

Alrighty folks of the round forum, I need to hijack the thread for a quick second since we are chatting about these numbers…but a little background:
I had a recent overhaul of the water system to this neighborhood, and had initially tested the new pH after they did the work. at the tap pH was 8.4, but had a good system where my Green Planet nutes in certain concerntration had input pH around 6.6 and output pretty even with it, sometimes a little lower. Was using dehumidifier water for most of my grows until about three weeks ago when needed to supplement with faucet. Fast forward to yesterday, noticed one of my mid-flower Box 52s had some rust colored spots in between veins midway up plant. Tried to test but realized quickly the 5.5-7.9 range must mean I need a new pH tester. Got one and picked up conductive pen too. The pH at the faucet is 9.4!! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:
I am gonna be monitoring the output and input for a few weeks to get a new system down, but if growing in Happy Frog , at mid flower, what should I anticipate being beneficial ranges for EC/PPM? and is the pH output of 6.4 ok, or am i locking out Ca?
thanks in advance, and sorry for the quick hijack @TheAbu95

Forgot to mention this option….

I don’t have one and last time I was actively growing AC infinity didn’t have a smart humidifier but I’ve seen others on here using them and from what I see and they’ve stated they work great.
Only thing I’m not sure about with them is if they lose power (hooked to timers) will they fire right back up when timer tells them to do so.
Maybe some one who has one of those units can chime in. If it doesn’t do that it wouldn’t work for me in my situation/environment

Well if I had read more at site it would have answered my own question
Looks like they check those boxes I would need.

  • Features VPD and humidity triggers, timers, a hidable backlit display, and auto-start with backup memory.

Looking much better this evening!! Ol girl was just hungry lol. It sure dont take long for nutes to kick in. Plant is visually taller and much perkier than it was before i left this morning. The purple on the leaves is still there but it dont seam as dark as it was and it hasn’t spread best i can tell!

That’s some seriously hard water wow.
Even the 8.4
It must have a lot of calcium etc.
You might think about getting an RO system for humidifier and feed water as the tap will coat things with white powder and clog carbon filter/prefilter
Even if you PH down the tap it will still contain those buffers.
Go ahead a PH a bucket of tap down to whatever number you normally do and then let it sit as is for 1/2 a day or so and check it.
It will probably go back up because of the minerals in the water.
Just some quick thoughts gotta walk the dog.

Second PH Tester for calibration confirmation?
New Battery in current tester?
Pass CAL?
Mix with bottled spring water and see if the numbers are true.

Clean PH tester before use (rinse storage solution off, completely).
Then measure your sample, then clean and storage solution when done.
Did you catch the similar topic?

Unfortunately was kind of at that point. Did all that stuff. The pH reader was reading distilled water at 9.1. then I poured some carbonated water in a glass and let it sit, that read at 7. Then tried tap water it said 10.1 and the thought no way in hell. So I got a new one, did the soak and calibration and got the new numbers. At $30, cheap insurance in my opinion. Would lose a few hundred bucks in a lost plant so peace of mind makes sense. But I believe l am gonna try letting the tap water sit overnight and retest to see about how it reacts then. Good suggestion!

It’s always best to have two of the things that you rely on to grow.
I would have two cheap yellow PH pens when I used them regularly so I could verify they were the same or at least close and if one failed than I had another one until another one arrived.
$12 each and they worked great for liquid PHing
Glad you got things handled and yea check for drift after sitting for a spell.
