I noticed the roots are growing through the bottom of the fabric pot into the reservoir. I’m using AC Infiniti extra large bases. Normally, I would just transplant into bigger pop, but I’m about a week at the flower. I’m not sure if I should just leave them or do they need to come out? This plant is from my outdoor grow.
Generally if the plants are healthy, it’s not a problem. It can be a problem if there are mechanics, like floats in auto pots. They will either die off or thrive if it’s dark enough. You can let em go or chop them off. It’s not something I typically focus on.
Wow that is insane looking I love it
It looks like the bottom of your pot is growing horns
That’s funny! Makes it kind of a PITA to clean up though
You can buy copper clad material and cut discs to fit in bottom of bags like Autopots does, they have stopped roots coming out bottom for me, but still get some out the sides of bag trying to get to water in trays.
Idc enough personally for my 1 gallon pots. I go as cheap as I can! lol has been working well like this for some time but good idea for OP if it’s a concern
That wasn’t for you, you don’t change a thing, except for that empty table. Lmao
I’ve had roots come out the bottom of my plastic bottom feeders but never anything like that. Man I’m definitely doing something wrong.
You’re not doing anything wrong, lol.
That’s the result of high frequency feeding and small pots,
Oh I thought they were 5 gallon pots lol I was like I submit to you Dark Lord teach me your ways. Bring me to the dark side.
Sry had to get a little star wars going lol
Lmfao!
1 gal pots
One thing I have started doing, I got a 7.5 gallon tote the fabric pots fit perfectly into, I’ve been mixing up 1.5 gallons of feed setting my plant in the tote, top feeding 1/2 gallon and then dumping the other gallon in the tote, let it sit in the feed while top feeding until I noticed the feed water getting darker, then I let sit for another 15 minutes then remove the plant from tote and set my Pepsi 6 pack tray in the tote to keep bottom of pot out of water, let it drain usually about 30 minutes and put back in tent.
Is that how I should be bottom feeding?
I primarily top feed, haven’t done a whole lot of bottom feeding. Sounds good to me! Eventually you’re gonna wanna just commit to bottom only.
I usually just fill to the riser level in the saucer so it hits the bottom of the pot and let it wick. Topping off daily, or every couple days. I hate moving plants. lol.
Sometimes I’ll fill perlite a little above expected water level in the bottom of the pot without a riser.
Edit
@DanB
The last time I did bottom feed, using the perlite method for some clone reversals
