Root system development

I grew this AMN Hz from Dec 7 to around March 1…indoor. Fair yield; 1.85 ounces after drying (over-dried…again.) Buds were thick, moist, healthy feeling. I dried them a bit too long even though the twigs snapped like they were supposed to do. The root system came out of a four gallon pot of FFOF.

The root ball filled up the bottom of the pot.

The ball was solid; looked like matted hair. That size of pot caused a watering problem for me. I needed it to drain more; stayed damp at lower soil depth much longer than the previous grow of the same plant. Upper soil was dry.

I thought the root ball looked healthy. Should I have planted in a bigger pot; 5 gal? It may well have accommodated quite easily.

The root system of the plant looked good. I don’t think moving to a larger pot will benefit anything. Just asking for other experience.

The root balls get big… that’s the nature of the plant. It doesn’t look overly root bound imho… I use a 5 gallon and it looks about the same.

Anywhere from 3-5 gallon should be good

Lets see some pics of the finished product!

I will have to do that next time. I gave the crop away to acquaintances (I don’t sell.) The report back was “quality” was regarded as much better than my first attempt (which made me feel pretty good.) Transplanted three germinated seeds on St. Patrick’s Day. Hope to be ready by July 4!

You should do a journal of that grow here so we can watch! Tag me if you do!
