So, i know that it gives you a choice in your profile to list your preferred method of growing. I try my damnest to keep up with who grows outta what in here whether it be hydro or bat dookie or angel hair… can we start a list of your screenname, what you have grown in, and how long youve been growing? Any special growing techniques? That way, when folks have questions, they can look at the “list” and be able to tag a few folks who grow in their medium as well.
That was long winded…
Ill start…
Im @ChittyChittyBangin
Ive been growing 4 years.
Grow medium: Organic
Special Techniques: Im dangerous when i LST
I’ve been growing indoors for 4 years. I grew outdoors back in the 70s, but it is nothing like the methods we use today.
Focus on the basics for the best results. “special techniques” are a distraction for the majority of growers imho. Get the basics down before you move on to more sophisticated techniques is my philosophy.
I’m @HotAndHumid
Been growing two years
Deep South US on the coast. Hot and humid
Indoor grow, coco+perlite
Halo system but converting to Autopots
Love experimenting even if ultimate failure.
Growing for a little over 5 years. Photoperiod for the first two years or so, and autoflowers since then.
Fox Farm soil and nutrients at the beginning.
Switched to Advanced Nutrients shortly after first grow, and switched to Mother Earth Coco Peat soil shortly after that. Didn’t like FF at all.
Switched back and forth between the Coco Peat soil and straight coco a few times, and currently growing in coco.
For the last few years I’ve stuck to primarily ILGM and Mephisto autos. Occasionally I’ll sneak something in from another breeder. Right now I have an ILGM Wedding Cake, a few Mephisto plants, and 1 Froot by the Foot by Atlas Seeds going in week 5. The Froot by the Foot was a suggestion by another customer I was talking to in my local grow store, and I’m blown away by her so far. This is her on the left, and the girl on the right is an El Chemi Kiwi x Northern Cheese Haze freebie from Mephisto. Today is day 31 above ground. She has the potential to be one of the most impressive autos I’ve ever grown. She’s just starting to stretch now. Good thing I topped her a few weeks ago, I can’t imagine how big she’s going to get in the next few weeks.
@Shadesfang
Been growing for 35 years, new to autos on my 2nd grow.
Fox Farms happy frog with auto living soil added.
Done indoor and outdoor, just doing indoor now.
AC infinity T22 lights and in the valley of Oregon
LST, FIM and hair cuts are my favorite activities to do to the plants.
Hey im bluedream1. Been growing for a year now . Grow medium jungle growth soil. Fox farm trio for nutrients. Lst is definitely the way to go. One tip i can say is use blackstrap molasses and liquid seaweed with watering. Someone told me to do this so i figured i pass it along .

I am @4204life
Growing recently for 4 months, grew indoors for 2 years probably 20 years ago.
Soil: Organic promix
I like to top or fim my plants. Not afraid to supercrop.
Hey yall I am @Dennis62 I grow in my closet, its a simple grow, lights and fans that’s it. I choose to grow in miracle grow potting mix, and use flower power organic trio nutes. I have been doing this since 2017 6 years. I use Horticulture lighting group 100 watt boards, both for veg with 4000k and flowering boards 3000k and new 3500k board. I grow medium sized plants in 3gal plastic pots and top once at 9 nodes, giving me 18 branches. I only take leafs off 2 weeks into flower and only a few to get light into the canopies of the plant. I use to do autos and photos, now I only do indica dominant strains and photos only. Happy growing yall
Growing on n off since 2003
Indoor focused
Any medium, current preference Coco
High frequency fertigation with Jacks
SCROG, heavy training, yield chasing
Prefer Photo Regs, but run anything
I’m currently on my third grow, I’m using 50/50 coco/perlite with Autopots - 5 gallon springpot version. I’m in a 3x3 A/C Cloudlab tent, and this grow I automated everything I could, with A/C ventilation, pole fan, and humidifier. My two 240W lamps are by Green Beams.
Hey everyone I’m Purp. I’ve been growing for 4 years now? Maybe going on five. Time really flies.
Soil grower exclusively. Have grown in just about anything the store sells. Made my own. And currently (well semicurrently, haven’t grown anything in about a year) but most currently, grew in reused Fox Farm soils. I had tons of it laying around and believe in the power of microbes and organic. Gets the job done for me.
As for lights and technique, I’m a budget friendly kind of person. So scrapped together my lights over the first couple years then kept piecing and piecing bigger and better over time. Still running 1st gen Bridgelux strips and my better lights are Arrows? My favorite trick to do to plants is to grow them to around 6-8 nodes. Then chop them in half. It’s a kind of delayed topping that guarantees me a pretty set structure. A week or 3 after, flip em and train as you please. Those 3 strong left nodes becomes 6 NICE colas. Just something I stumbled upon and kept doing. Fits my closets nicely.
Started 2018 , so 5 years.
Did a few grows back in the 70s
Indoor 4x3 tent with 450 watts led lighting.
Soil with various nute lines and then changed to Coco Coir and Jacks.
Special techniques…Anything that avoids the arthritis back pain.
Started growing in 2019 I do 1 or 2 plants at a time (seasonal grower)
Indoor grow 4x4 with a hlg 320xl / Scorpion Rspec FR
Grown three plants in soil but Coco’s my grow medium
LST sometimes to much other times not enough

I grew some in the early 80s - restarted two years ago.
Growth Medium: Peat (Sunshine Mix #4)
Special Techniques: Heavy topping, Supercropping, Scrog, and Schwazze twice during flower
I do a 4 or 5 plant SCROG and I use the Schwazze method during flower on all my grows…even the ones in the 80s
Started growing in the 70s grew on and off outside in the early 2000’s tried growing with HPS with some success. In 2016 bought my first tent and some led UFO lights heard leds were the future had a couple disappointing grows and gave up in 2018 I tried again this time with a better light a Cobb been going great ever since. I used to grow in soil made my own and bag soil dry amendments now promix and grow dots. Now I have 4 tents and 8 lights. Oh and those UFO lights put them in the skeet launcher didn’t fly like I hoped but was satisfying using the 12 gauge on them
