Removal Of Last Years Root Ball/Stump

Greetings,
Had a nice grow during the summer. Nice 4 plant in ground grow area. Since I harvested, can anyone inform me as to how to go about in removing the old root balls?

Plants were about 7 foot tall and very healthy. One stump was about 4 inches in diameter.

I created bed with used soil from inside grow. Possibly had Leaf Seporia, think it may have been an aggressive plant. Never had any other issues. Can I just turn soil over and let nature do its thing. Or should I dig up and remove dirt?

I am still a green horn and sure would like to hear from seasoned growmies. Thank you for your time.

I’m new also but I’ve been reusing the same dirt. Motherearth Groundswell. On my 3rd plant now same soil. I dug up a sifted the roots out of my dirt then gave it a huge NPK shot triple veg feed and forced 3 gallons of pure pH 6.5 water threw it for 2 days.

This is in my recycle soil in reveg ATM. So it does work just need tester to keep an eye on pH,ppm an all.

You can just dig up the root ball and chop it up a bit with a spade and let nature break it down. However, it’s a good idea to rotate crops every season and avoid putting the same type of plants in the same spot year after year. If there is a disease in that area it will infect the new plant you put in. If you grow some different crops in that spot for a couple of years and then put another cannabis plant in, any disease life cycles should have been broken and there’s less chance of the new plant catching something.

That is very true, however However, reusing soul it has to be done with care and caution. We have seen both home growers and commercial growers reuse soil for several years consecutively, which amounts to 10+ grows. Rotating area or crops is only necessary when soil showing signs of disease or other infections to the plant haulting or slowing growth.

Spot picked out and prepped, was first year of anything growing in it, except weeds. So I would think I could reuse again with no problems. I went from 6 inches to 3 foot in a month.

Thanks for the ideas.

As long as no problems with last grow, chop them root balls up an if u have a tiller rly mix the soil around you should be golden I would think it’s an outside grow area.
