Relative yields

Curious guys: I’ve read a lot of these forums and I’ve seen many many mentions of 2-3lbs indoors from 2-3 plants. Needless to say, that’s stellar!! Can anyone definitively say they’ve seen those numbers on here from LEDs or just Gavita’s? I have a two adult limit and wondering what kind of numbers you guys have seen for 2 plant grows under led by any methods with ILGM genes. All possible advantages like hydro and CO2 allowed. Just curious.

I think if someone gets a gram per watt of light they are killing it.

.5 grams/watt is good and is about what many growers strive for, but there are many factors to take into consideration if you are expecting high yields. Some strains just produce more than others naturally for example.

Also not to mention how calculations are done, the wattage your lights say they give off is not actually what the plants are receiving, so also take that into consideration. Another example is that I have 4 led lights @ 600w each, but if they only draw 200 watts from the wall then my plants are getting 800w not 2400w. Not a real example but just to give you the right idea.

There are a few here that grow hydro and scrog that get high yields. @M4ur is one of them I think. I prefer soil myself and will never see yields anywhere near that because I don’t scrog @Loki

@Daddy runs leds and pulls pretty big numbers.

This group is mostly hobby growers looking to grow for themselves, very few have the space to justify gavitas. That being said, 3 per de isn’t even 1.2 gpw, and there’s lots of led growers here doing that or better. They just aren’t growing in spaces big enough to produce 3 units.

@dbrn32 thanks for the props brother. @OldSkunk don’t let any misinformation or “others” results dissuade you. I grew 6 plants (twice) in a room (not a tent) with plenty of space, in soil using nectar under 1 light fixture (12 cobs and 3 drivers) and pulled 1.89 gpw first grow, 2.1 gpw second grow. I do have experience but had problems both times that hurt yields.

Next run will probably be 4 plants in a scrog and possibly using the AN line.

@Loki if you have good tech and a green thumb you are capable of 6 zips a plant. You will get more with experience. Your goal should be to be better then your last grow. I have seen beginners get 2-7 oz per photo plant out of the gate on their first grows.

Data - I grew a Superskunk under QB’s. (83 days from sprout) and I just harvested 450g from one plant. Should dry to over 3oz.

edited. HLG 260, and at 100% for most of the flowering. A mathematician can figure it out, but I had one more plant under the same light, not harvested yet, that will yield more. Safe guess will be 7oz including a BotM contender, under 260watts.

But is it is 7oz, that’s almost 200g from 260, so not quite a g/watt but pretty darn close.

This is not the BotM entry, it’s still growing

I have to limit at 2 monster vegged giants and Scrogged. In promix, using fluence spydr 2p. C02, and AN full line. If I hit anything close to 2gpw I’ll be stoked. I have a full room and environmental will be at ideals. I have had many pulls at 8-12 per plant w HID and probably inferior genes. I guess let’s see! I’ve started a weekly update on my grow if people wanna follow and put their advice!

By the way, that light pulls about 680w at the wall and has a white spectrum that close matches the sun. The PPFD at the recommended height of 6-8” is just over 1,000. As the fixture physically is about 4X4 feet following the manufacturers distance is ideal and creates almost no canopy heat.

As @dbrn32 said, most of us are hobby growers. So cost is a consideration.
Indoors I’ve been averaging 5-6oz of prime bud /plant using 7 gal containers and a mix of blurples and eb light strips, all in a Scrog. I say “prime” because I only cure the good buds. Everything small or larfy goes into trim for butter.
I’ve recently decided to get rid of the blurples and go all light strips/qb’s/cobs. I think they’ll be more efficient and hopefully produce more. I’m sure if I increased the container size I’d probably pull more weight too.

Outdoors I’ve always just let them grow, using 10 gal containers and would yield 8-12oz. This year I went scrog. Bud rot is taking its toll, but I’m hoping to at least match wheat I’ve done in the past. Bigger containers or in the ground would def give bigger yields. @Pat2 is in VT and I’m pretty sure he pulled over an lb from one plant.

I have a buddy who uses Gavita 1000’s and pulls 14-16 zips per plant.

That is in a commercial setting with C02 injection, UV lighting, etc.

Mine was in the ground, "no limits for root expansion.

I pulled this from one WWA using 535 watts of full spectrum LED. RDWC hydroponic setup.

I will be harvesting 1 Northern Lights in about 3 weeks followed by 5 Gold Leaf and 3 Banana Kush in another 3 weeks. Its my first grow, its inside, and Im hoping to get 8 zips per plant, that’s my goal anyway. Will post the results.
