Relative DLI Requirement for Various Plants

This morning we had a grower with a lighting problem and it inspired me to go searching for relative DLI requirements. I had known, for instance, that the DLI peak for basil is 15, while cannabis peaks at ~45 or 50. It is similar for tomatoes and peppers, which both have DLI peaks at 30. A DLI of 30 is ~33% less than that required by cannabis.

The only plants that even approach the intensity that cannabis requires are olive trees, palm trees, and some species of cacti.

I make pesto of it and put it in tomato-based pasta sauces. Also serve a leaf of it on Mediterranean platters as edible garnish.

Oh yeah, i make my own spaghetti sauces with all home grown ingredients except for the oil and butter but, ive grown alot of different vegetables and herbs before. It was all in preparation for growing cannabis. The problem now is, i have moved my growing operation/hobby into an indoors grow tent. Its not that much different from growing outdoors except i need to do less watering and feeding nutrients. Im still a little confused on VPD and DLI/PPFD. I dont know anything about these 2 parameters/conditions for inducing optimum growth. This was always Mother Natures job now it has become mine. It was just dropped in my lap like, “okay, you want to cut me out of the pucture, then here you go buddy, its all your problem now”…lol… im learning as i go… or should it be grow. Im reading alot and i am trying to wrap my head around VPD and DLI/ppfd. For me, its learning through my mistakes. This is how im going to have to do it. With the help of this forum and the members, i can learn from others mistakes also. This is a big help. None of this would’ve been imaginable for me 20+ years ago when i used to find 20 seeds in a Nickle bag…lol!

Here’s another list: unfortunately a pdf… Made screenshots…

I finely crush mine and bottle it. I trade it to the neighbors for fresh eggs.
