Ready Yet? Seeing amber

I believe I am finally seeing some amber? Is she ready to be chopped? This is the top of the plant though, the lower buds don’t look ready yet. Thanks in advance for any help!Photo on 4-5-20 at 8.42 AM #3 Photo on 4-5-20 at 8.42 AM

The pistils will go amber before the trichomes do. Pay attention to the bulbous ends of the trichomes to get what you are looking for.

All the pistils are amber. Looking closely at the second photo, it appears to me the bulbous ends are amber? Maybe I’m wrong, this is my first grow. Not sure if this means anything, but whenever I touch these buds an extremely sticky, smelly (good smell) substance gets on my fingers, it’s almost waterproof, I have to really scrub with soap to get it off. Thanks for the reply!

Yep. I see a bit of amber in the second pic.

Here’s a good guide if you haven’t seen it yet.

Also try to get trichome shots from the bud not the sugar leaves. The top of the plant will turn cloudy to amber faster than the middle and lower. So try to get a look at the middle of the plant trichomes. I know there’s a trichome development chart somewhere on here.

I stuck the microscope as deep as I could inside the bud, I don’t believe the photos are of sugar leaves, but I can’t be positive. I’ll take another look. Thanks for the chart!

Thanks everyone!

I think you’re within the harvest window. In the second photo on the underside of the leaf it looks like there a couple amber.

How did your harvest turn out?

It turned out pretty well, although I harvested it improperly I believe. I dried it in the room it was growing in, which is almost 80 degrees, 45 rh, so it dried super fast, within 3 days it was crisp. I put it in the jars and it had a grass like smell, I ended up making edibles with it. So I knew better with the other 2 plants that were coming due to be ready right behind it and dried them in a 65 degree closet, with 50 rh and they came out perfect. This was my first grow and it was an excellent learning experience, I’m already onto my second grow, this is so addicting lol. Thank you for following up!! This forum is the best!
