Ahh to coincide with your return. Enjoy them plans then sounds like somethinf to get excited about
April: Final Countdown…
May: I get to harvest the current grow and start the curing.
June FL- Disney, Chicago, Indiana
July Oregon
Labor Day, Fall Seed drop
Five seeds dropped into water. Testing viability of recent collected.
Indoor grown weed for seed.
11-1-22 batches harvested 3-1-23 (revegers and bushers).
Kief mined was fun to smoke. Things been difficult since.
24 hours later, 3 sunk and 2 floating.
No Tails, but promising.
Testing soil sprouting in dirt, prior to tail sightings.
All in dirt, same solo cup.
Apera PH60 Calibration kit worth the price of the instrument.
Calibration fluid provided, match other commercial liquids.
PH60-EZ (dead on). Calibrated well at both 7.0 and 4.0 test solutions.
PH20- recalibrated, ouch. too far off in a month.
Blue Cheap pen failed recalibrated, discard pile.
Some days.
So back on Valentine Day (2-14-2023) I started manually pollenating two female plants.
Still have some pollen stored with my Keif.
Tonight, I opened a seed bud and discovered a ripe, large, plump, brown, seed, and the plant has plenty of big swollen “Hairless” flower pods (Small plant, 1-footer, in a 1-gal jug, 3/4 full dirt, and light deprived for a month). Yeah, MY SEEDS, did the deeds. Current grow will be harvested in a month, then cured.
Next fall I will know how the process worked, for sure.
It took One year, to go from seed, to flowering, Pollenated, and developed into seed, with a repeat (Twice in the year). Her seeds are my bank for the year’s labor and learning. Plus the other 500 seeds from the fall seed mining. Still have un-mined possible seeded buds in jars, curing.
Kief mining is a whole new experience. Not smoking hash since early 1980’s.
I will do better next fall. Thanks to the forum for contributors and support during this time.
Lots learned and much different from “perceived”.
That’s really cool @DEEPDIVERDAVE! Next is pheno hunting??
YUP, Time to see what growing (not experimenting or learning) can do.
@rmac fun reading when you get time. Clones are so much fun, IME/IMO
I had 3… 1 went to someone in need… the healthiest… wanted best possible results… so, I kept the 2, named 1 Arse, cuz it’s growing so ridiculously funny & Runt, for the other. This little Runt, has taken off! I’m tickled!! I’ve spent many years playing & experimenting with all types of propagation, even grafting… So when I cut these, I didn’t expect them to make it… But, 2 more plants I don’t have to buy! Now have Big Daddy AH, with 2 babez and my Mother, Northern lights… tent is packed imo, so, I added a larger (empty) oatmeal box, to raise Runt to a higher advantage, while keeping the 2 main plants where they will always be… how I squeezed a 3rd pot in there and didn’t bust anything, idk I don’t care, they fit!! And I’ll have more bud than I’ll need… But someone said recently,I don’t want to quote wrong person, but like him, I only need to grow 1 or 2 plants at a time… I’ll figure out some kind of system, & change up when I wanna flirt with cloning
in the meantime, just rolling with the punches… I hope everyone is having an awesome day/ evening! Weather here was absolutely gorgeous! We’ll see a ton of rain in next few weeks, per forecast… glad I wasn’t planning outside grow, cuz it would have been this week or next… Best Nug luck to all! And Gnight!
WOW! That is awesome @DEEPDIVERDAVE !! Congrats!!
YUP, less, is more. So quality of lighting becomes more critical.
Learning the cure process is also important.
Live and learn, but faster here with forum support.
Good growing to you.
Clones can be a side project and stuffed into corners.
They have a strong will to survive.
Probably an operator induced error.
CAL routine 100% accepted correct standards.
Regardless, happy with APERA
Sedro Wolley, WA Banano Farms, Banano Blueberry, was awesome Blueberry taste and smell. Clones for sale. Med License required.
Did you pick one up? Banana blueberry sounds like a delicious smoothie.
Last Spring. I will again, next fall.
Disney, Family, and Wedding… June/July23.
Last days before the 5/1 shut-down.
Been a great learning year and with forum friends, the learning was beyond belief or my expectations.
His name is Banano. (hence, Banano Blueberry).
I lost the new Raspberry plants, something chewed them off.
1 inch wire fence was useless.
@noddykitty1 ..
Mason bee video - quite good - General Fruit Growing - Growing Fruit
Was it chewed off where the stem meets the ground?
No, green removed from stalk and stalk chopped off.
Too many transplanted lilac stalks have same issue. i thought it was rabbits’.
Fence 1iinch wire diamond fencing, would have stopped rabbits. Mice, Mole, rat?
3-5-inches above ground.
