I need help to get over this seedling hump,I’m doing something wrong. I started Hlg 600 light 30 inches away for 3 days and when i noticed the stretch going on I lowered it to 20" at 40%. And that didnt help, seems like there not really doing anything but stretching. I soaked the rockwool at day 1 and put a plastic dome on them after they sprouted. I’m in my basement no need for a tent, temp is 69 - 70 degrees. I have almost everything to start my RDWC set up but i’m not getting into that until i get some decent growth going. Then I want to start a journal. I have 2 more seeds in germination right now to start over. But I have to figure out what I did wrong with my current seedlings. I have some extra seeds and I dont want to waste my time with long scraggily plants. I know my meters might be subpar for Ec/Ph but i’m on a tight budget and my plan is to get a good meter for my RDWC set up that will be digital with ph/ppm/temp digital readings in my res. I’ve been playing with the % on my light started out at 40% and i’ve went as high as 60%. Playing with the distance as well. Looking for plant satisfaction but not seeing any change for the good. This is suppose to be a good light but my plants act like they dont like it. HELP i need guidance if not to salvage what i have going but to help with the next seeds i have germinating right now.

Move your lights a few inches closer

Do you have a light meter, if not look into the the phone app called PHOTONE. For seedlings the lighting PPFD should be around 200-300 or a DLI of 15-18 :love_you_gesture:

Thanks. I just read the terms and there’s mention of purchases will be charged possibly to my google account but didn’t come right out and say anything about cost of app.

If I remember there is a cost but it’s like 3 bucks nothing serious

Just checked my light out. PPFD =831 DLI = 63.2. These seem off alot according to @OGIncognito. How do i find chart on these numbers ? Cause I have the numbers but there meaningless to me.

I’ll look for a chart to post, make sure you’re setting the app for the light cycle you’re using and using a diffuser if you have an IPhone. The POFD and DLI I posted above is what you should be using for seedlings :love_you_gesture:

You make a filter with white paper?

Here’s a chart I use, it’s for autos but I keep my numbers relatively the same :love_you_gesture:

There’s also an app called tent buddy. It’s free. Might check it out too.

Ok I just found the graph that tells what i need every week of growth, i just needed to scroll down a little on the app. So i think i been blasting to much light by a lot. Par = 218, was 831/ DLI = 14.2, was 63.2. Had to raise light to 25 inches and adjust percent to 40% . Hoping this big adjustment does the trick. One other thing I am not growing autos, growing photos. But i think i found the chart for just cannabis and not autos. My light is HLG 600 spec R, which I’m assuming is a full spec and not red/blue or blue/white. I think this is the ticket i been looking for. What a great app Photone is. I was reluctant at first because I’m 65 and phone technology is sometimes hard for me to understand. Big Thanks
