Quick question regarding indoor>outdoor transition

Hey all

I would like to put my vegging plants outside here in the PNW but, from what I understand, if I did that now they would enter flowering then revert to vegging, causing all sorts of stress and issues.

Daylength right now is 14:05
I have the plants on 18/6 under LEDs inside.
I initially did this because I am new to the region and it was very wet and cold when I started these from seed in mid april. But now the weather is turning really nice and we are getting lots of sun (which will likely change but thats okay)

Is there a good way to transition these plants to outdoors before june in a way that wont trigger the flowering hormones? Can I slowly reduce the 18/6 cycle to match up with the current daylength?

thanks!

Strain: Egmont

Age from Sprout: 5.5 wks

Soil in pots: FFOF in 3/4gal pots, potting up to 5gal

Water 1x/wk, currently overwatered

PH of water and runoff or solution in reservoir: N/A, meters on the way

FF Growbig nutes 6-4-4, light feeding

Indoor or Outdoor: both?

Light system, size and height from plants: LED blue array 18-24" away

Temps; Day, Night: 60 deg constant indoor. 70/45 outdoor

Humidity; Day, Night: 60%rel constant. 50-70 outdoor

Ventilation system; fan

AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier: NA

Co2; NO

It shouldn’t go into flower unless you had 12 or more hours of darkness. @MattyBear is from that area and has grown outdoors

We aren’t having warm enough temps at night to have them outside right now in the PNW. I usually don’t put plants out until late mid May at the earliest :v::bear:

Ah - thanks for the insight @MattyBear. Im used to southern CA, so this is a new problem for me, which is fun.

What type of night temps would you be aiming for up here?
Assuming temps are good in mid may, would the act of going from 18/6 inside to 15/9 be enough to trigger flowering? I am not familiar enough with the hormonal mechanics to know if it would flip back and forth from flower to veg and back to flower at the solstice.

cheers!

that wont happen up here until late Sept. I guess im a little confused on the basics of outdoor. or perhaps its just the move to these northern regions that has me off-kilter

If they are living outside you will be fine to put them out. They won’t start to flower until August or so. I’d shoot for night time temps to be consistently in the mid 50s before permanently leaving them outside :v::bear:
