Questions About Difficulty Ratings

Hey guys I have 40 grand daddy purple seeds. I started 3 of them and they’re like a month old now and they’re super small still they have true leaves but like not really big at all I thought autoflowers were supposed to grow fast under any conditions lol. MY QUESTION is ILGM rated Grand Daddy Purple Moderate To Difficult to grow. Soo what makes this seed any more difficult to grow than the white widow Feminised Photo that I have that’s Booming after one month ?

Autos have a mind of their own. Thats why i quit growing them. Ive grown 5 ILGM auto flower strains and all of the plants were unpredictable. It doesnt matter what seed bank they come from, autos are autos. I have 3 Granddaddy Purp Photos that i just flipped into flower 2 days ago… theres a duban poison in the mix too

I got them outside in the camper I don’t have a light out there that’s why I picked a auto because they do there own thing and don’t need a light cycle Only sunlight from the windows witch is indirect as heck but I mean after a month they ain’t dead so they gotta be growing ya know hahaha

The soil is definitely Cold it’s been real cold outside so that’s probably why it’s been such a slow grow but the first image looks like a double seedling haha weird !

Pretty cool. Yea man, colder temps will stunt growth. Start getting below 60 and theyll slow down. It will also prevent nutrient uptake also

Cold temps will stunt growth. Soil looks pretty wet as well.

Ya it is I watered it maybe 2-3 days ago I was literally thinking that when I went in to check them to see if I should water when I got home from work and it was STILL wet

Cold/wet make it real tough for the roots to take off.

Cannabis needs a dry period. Your pots need to feel a little light before watering again. Overwatering can cause root rot , ph issues, nutient lock outs, ect.

Could be a possibility forsure the soil isn’t too good at all the water sat on the top and ran off the sides of my fabric pot it would be a little puddle because I don’t want to drown it but ya it didn’t want to take it in

Is there any reason why the soil would stay wetter than it should be for an excessive amount of time ?

Colder temps will cause the soil to retain water. If the soil is retaining water and not allowed to dry, the roots will “drown” or rot because the soil compacts and any oxygen is depleted to the roots. When you water, try to water in a circle. Just enough to get the soil wet. Wait 5 or 10 minutes and come back and water slowly. This will prevent water from overflowing into the bottom of your saucer and being absorbed from the bottom. If at all possible, set the plant in direct sunlight amd allow the soil to warm up and dry out.

Heres a suggestion. Get a good bag of soil and some perlite. Mix about 15 to 20% perlite to a 5 gallon pot of soil. Take about 2 cups of water and mix your new soil and perlite mix if the new soil is dry. Carefully transplant your plants into the new pots.

Light, temp and humidity. If these three are where they need to be a plant will thrive. If even one is off, a plant will underperform (auto or photo).

They won’t do much with only that amount of light. Autos respond well to lots of intense light. They would be better off if you could set them outside in the sun
