Question about watering frequency

So I’ve got one plant in a 3 gallon pot in soil and I’m in the 6th week of flower. I’m not sure my best course of action here. If I water every 24 hours it seems like too much, every 48 seems a little underwatered. 36 seems to be the sweet spot, but then I’m watering right around lights off, and I’ve heard you shouldn’t do that. What’s the bigger sin, slight underwatering or watering right before the dark period begins?
For context, at 48 hours the soil looks/feels very dry annd the pot is light, but there isn’t any drooping or anything. I’ve heard the symptoms of underwatering aren’t as apparent during flower, and that it’s a “silent killer”. Maybe I’m just thinking too much but I’m trying my best

Underwatering will cause more problems than watering before lights out. I let my girls get away from me this time and they got to big fur the pots there in. I have to water 3 hours after the lights come on. And then a little refresher right before the lights go out

Start picking your pots up and feeling how heavy or light they are. If they’re really light water to overflow. If they’re not really light, don’t water them. You can’t water by a timeline, they’ll need more or less water at different stages of growth

I go by weight of the pot…do not want to get dry in flower. They do start drinking less at the end of flower. In flower, I error towards wet…especially at the end.

I’ve kind of lost the dry weight of the pot… that worked really well until it got big. Now I’m not sure how much weight the plant is adding.
Are the signs of overwatering the same in flower as they are in veg? I always assume so, but I read something the other day that said it’s very easy for them to dry out and not show any signs.

Smaller pot will dry out faster than a bigger pot. Also, the stage of the plant, how much water it can uptake. a lot of good answers from fellow growers.
Good luck :victory_hand:
