We have already addressed that something is in the works for a classified section, but it isn’t ready yet. Understand in this instance the op was a member for an hour or so before his first post. It was an ad to sell lights. 1st post mind you. No other posts just selling right out of the box. This should tell you all you need to know about him. I’m a member of an audio site and their policy is no ADS untill after 100 posts as the idea is for members get to to know you, chat with you see or read your knowledge level etc. Before sending you money. That idea keeps the scammers at bay as it takes some commitment to the site to get to 100 posts and allows everyone to get to know you. If the site is considering a section for resale I strongly recommend a similar policy. @latewood

If fact on the site I speak of you cant even see the “for sale section” before you get to 100 posts, a good security plan considering our hobby is not legal everywhere yet.

I am sorry , but anything here will always be my concern and as usual you are behind the conversation. rob and I discussed this today, and a day or 2 ago, and he explained that the burden was on him to write the plan out. so. Once again, you just want to call me out even though I am trying to help the friends I have here. Perhaps you should stop being rude to members before you get yourself in trouble.

I would love to be able to private message other users where you could share genetics. I’ve only been here for a few weeks but have seen several users thanking other users for donating seeds.
I was also wondering how this is possible without getting banned. For me helping other have success and sharing is what its all about. Im not looking to sell or get anything in return.
Not allowing users to even share user names from unrelated social media platforms all most seems like your going out of your way to stop members from being able to access other members who want to be connected to other members.
I want everyone to have success and let’s face it seeds are legal to buy, sell and ship all over the world as they are sold as souvenirs. I guess I dont understand how this could implicate this website in anyway when no information would be shared on this site.
Not trying to stir up trouble just having a hard time understanding this. Like there is a big wall here keeping the community separated. Its like instead of have a waist high chain link fence around your house you have built a 20 ft tall cement border wall around our houses.
I guess it just kind of gives the site just a little less of a community feel. I enjoy the site and thats my only complaint. I guess it would just be nice to have a place here where those who are willing could have means to share info with only those they wish.

Considering the legalitys involved the site has to be carefully not only for themselves but for members as well. I’m sure this is a major issue for their legal team.

When we wrote the rules and guidelines restricting om’s, and persinal info exchangem the idea was founded on the fact that although many members would be honest, there are others who would take advantage of the weeker more vulnerable members, and in other cases, scammers can just rip off other members and this is a negative vibe for the whole forum. it also causes liability issues, and potential illegal activity.
That is why we shut down PM’s, and do not allow sharing of personal information. It is nothing more than considering the safety and security of all members. Not just the few who want to purvey seeds.
This is a forum built upon and for the members who buy seeds from ILGM. Pretty simple conceot, and well proven over the past decade.

If I can add…It is not legal in all states to ship, but or sell seeds. I would estimate that at least in 30_ states you would get busted if caught. Everyone be happt and enjoy your grows. I know I am.

Thanks for making it so I didn’t have to type just about everything you did haha. Now I can just address my side of actions taken.
We have never allowed anyone to sell anything here. Not in the 5 or 6 years before I was member, and not in the 4+ since I’ve been a member. Imo, the person who “had total control of the forum” over most of the that period, and didn’t allow people to sell anything, does not have the right to come share an opinion otherwise because it’s now convenient.
Said member was given opportunity to be coached on what is allowed on the forum, and that we may soon have platform to make this kind of transaction. He/she ignored instructions and posted items for sale again. From there moderation was handled exactly in line with forum policy and past practices. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it was consistent with moderation efforts that just about all current staff had been trained to do.
I don’t mind explaining our actions. I don’t mind allowing the membership to have and voice their opinion on matters. Sometimes there are going to be times where opinions aren’t going to matter, and we are trying to make it so those instances are limited. Like in this case, opening a classified section had been in discussion long before this instance. But I do not appreciate being called out by someone who had 8 years to do this and did nothing, refused to allow members to have a voice, and probably wouldn’t have allowed this discussion to continue to this point.

Where can I find more info on ILGM seeds? Like the focus of genetic traits, breed stock, breed from seed selections or just reverse and f1 f2 and so on?
I like to know a little more about the actual genetics and breeders before running their gear.

As one who has been here for a few years and done my best to contribute to the community while abiding by the forum rules. I have definitely made some noise here or there at times, I’m not perfect and nor is anyone else here.
However I appreciate the ability to be heard and to have open and transparent conversations within a community. It’s what our governments lack today.
So thank you @dbrn32 @MattyBear @Myfriendis410 for the work you have and are doing.

@Indicanna_Jones I can’t say for all. But there are users in here that came from the lab. A side that has since been shut down. Were had access to pm’s in there and were able to exchange info. It was a paid forum. That is how I was able to exchange seeds with so many.

There are other forums where PM’s are allowed, no reason to restrict yourself to only this one. You’ll see many of us on those forums as well.

Ask almost any member here and they will tell you I’m one of the nicest people on this forum.
You on the other hand have alienated people, caused members to leave the forum, and had the opportunity to move the forum forward or make a classified section for 8 years. You did nothing. Now your opinion is moot. Just because you are no longer a mod does not mean you get to call out the mods on a topic you were asked to help move forward for months, yet you refused to even be involved in our monthly moderator meetings. You will not try to bully me in the open forum.

A few members have also met in real life just due to logistics and able to call out a public place.
There are ways around the no PM issue and it was set that way for a reason. Many of us have got alone fine for years without it.
