Hey. I’m growing some malawi gold that I got free seeds through buying some others. She’s a pretty Interesting plant. I am attaching some pictures to get your thoughts. If anyone has grown this before. I switched her to flower in the beginning of august. Still doesn’t look ready to me. There is no heavy smell coming from her. And lots of these hair. She is growing fine so no question about soil or anything like that. Just curious if anyone has grown it before and if this is just how they grow.
Thanks.
Im no expert and ive never grown that particular strain but your plant looks beautiful !! I dont see any amber in the tricombs but like i said im kinda green lol.
ive never grown that strain. she looks healthy. ive had plants that mature at different rates. Ove had some that seem to produce tons of pistils and very little tricomes for forever and then after the swell they frost over. my personal experience is that when that happens they make it worth the extra wait. beautiful plant. congrats
When u bought the seeds the breeder gives it a 16 week flower time, as its a landrace Sativa. Tell me u knew that before u ordered it.
The plant is a legend, consider yourself a true connoisseur. Enjoy
Plants Looking great my friend. I see support Bamboo sticks in the near future for those large cola’s.
Good luck
I do have a question. What are you feeding? I have grown it before, and the reason I ask is, one she looks really airey and not dense at all, and the 3rd time I grew her she fox tailed bad because I gave her Big Bud wayy longer than I should have. Buds were like smoking on hay that got you stoned. I love land racers growing Durban Poison now just finished a Northern lights grow. Turned out excellent!
Durban Poison is in the back!
That is typical of a landrace sativa.
If i recollect Malawi is very long flowering strain. 14-16 weeks maybe? @Covertgrower has tinkered with it I think.
Also agree that these sativa’s are notorious for having more whispy buds.
There was a few jokes my kids would graduate before she finished. It is very long flowering strain. Breeder recommends 12/12 from the start, and I’ll confirm I wished I would have started and finished that way. Mine got pretty large in the stretch phase.
Looks like you did well with heights, mine got a little tall. She’ll finish eventually, but it’s definitely a marathon.
Gorgeous plant!
It’s great to see what others grow the same.
