QueenCityB's Somango, African Buzz, and Alasksan Purple grow journal 2020 (first journal)

@Axemanjake23 , sure thing. After the darkness period ends this evening, I’ll figure out good lighting for a pic.

Thanks.

In my head, it’s kinda ironic that an “axeman” showed up to help me with a chop or not decision.

I love this forum😁

I don’t see any pollen sacs in those last two pics yet. Better lighting may help.

Thanks @Axemanjake23 and @Stonedrus

Welcome @Mote and @Nicky!

I’m trying to decide whether this African buzz is male or not.

I’m thinking its male, but not quite sure yet.

It’s looking male, I think

Even if it is a male. It has a long way to go before it’ll drop pollen. It wouldn’t hurt to leave it in there for a little bit longer just to make sure be 100% positive.

Thanks @Stonedrus

This is the most worrisome time for me.

I’ll just keep on keepin on for now.

I wasn’t sure when the pollen starts. I’m glad to hear it’s not yet there. Its freakin me out because now I’ll be down to one trained Somango, and 2 Alaskan Purples. I will only be using about 2/3rds of my flower tent.

But living not to far from the Mississippi growing up, and watching big floods, I realize I just gotta accept what nature throws. Cant change whatcha get. Can only move on.

African Buzz are the only seeds I have left. If this is male, then I’m 0 for 2 on females this grow with this strain. (But not giving up. I’ll soldier on.)

I agree with above. Give it a few more days. Those might be resin sacks and pistils are not showing yet. Or it could be nanners.

I just did a weird group photo upload. 2 pics are the female Somango. 2 pics are the undetermined African Buzz.

No sacks yet, no nanners? I don’t see any, got a better zoom for your phone cam? You can download free ones.
Fingers crossed for you @QueenCityB.

I just got one and did no better.

Before long I’ll get one of those USB microscopes, but probably not for this gender reveal.

I’ll keep waiting and watching.

So, while I’m impatiently waiting for my African Buzz to let me know, I have went and ordered something.

For this grow, I will continue using my 260w blurple, but now I’m going to supplement on either side with 75w cree cob, meanwell diy light kits that I’'ll put together when they show up on my front porch this week.

I wonder if they’ll come with basic instructions?

If the African Buzz is male, I will take either the blurple or one of the crees out and stick it in my budget veg and seedling area.

I cant wait to see the difference. I figure better upgrade late than never. Since these are singles, they can always be moved around and used with future upgrades.

Mine were diy and I looked on utube for a video, it was surprisingly easy to put together (my lights).
Hopefully there are videos of your particular light?

I’ve seen a video pretty similar. I cant wait to figure it out. I would have never went this route without spending tons of time reading on this forum. @dbrn32 spends tons of time helping people. I mostly tried to read that stuff I’m glad I joined the nerd party here! I’m soaking up lots and changing what I thought were priorities, or things that I thought I

had right before.

Before I go, here is one more shot of the blurple garden. (Not that it matters, but it’s been 12/12 for a week. When do you start counting the weeks of flower? Last week?)

I start counting when I see pistils under 12/12

African Buzz sexin’…

But, while that plant is going slow, the count is on with the Somango.

Not to mention one of the little Alaskan Purples looks like this.

I couldn’t get a good pic of the other Alaskan, but I’m pretty sure I saw pistils. I’ll throw a pic up, when I get a good one. The Alaskan seeds were gifted to me from another medicinal patient in my state. He only buys I♥️GM seeds, and turned me on to this forum. These were free feminized seeds, and he only grows autos.

Those dang Africans are regular seeds. I really wanted a nice sativa.

And then I got a pic of the other Alaskan Purple, too.

And one more shot of the entire garden. Its growing fast. I’m so happy. Just days away from having this 260w plus 150w. 75 on each side. No more dark edges.

I hope that will be enough light for this grow.

I’m flippin ecstatic! She’s showing her hairs to me!:man_facepalming::grin:

I was making myself so paranoid there was one moment when I almost chopped it out. Last time I fed her I even pondered skipping the feeding part because why waste it on a male I have to cull, right?

This next pic is my sexy ol’ Somango.

Ain’t she purty?!
