10 4. thanks for the info @MidwestGuy @StonedCold13. That makes more sense. Trying my hand at pasteurizing some coir bricks right now, wish I would have bought boomr bags. I bought the same tubs you have midwestguy, got some black trash bags and wax paper to put down. Going to send it all this afternoon/evening
I pasteurize my CVG in a 5 gallon bucket.
Same here, straw also
That works. Really anything with a top will work to keep the heat in
More geek stuff. This time research on how LSD works in the brain. LSD and psilocybin are very similar molecules, the main difference is how “sticky” LSD is. LSD is a better molecular fit into the 5HT2A receptor in the brain and this is the reason why LSD lasts ~10 hours while psilocybin only lasts 5 to 6 hours.
Tried my best y’all. It smelled like pure mushrooms. It’s in my grow room where it stays 75 to 80 degrees and a heat pad underneath on low. 2 15 qt tubs 3 to 4 inches deep
Have you checked out the north spore " how to build your own monotub" on YouTube? Pretty good video, well worth 5 min view.
@TMC.PRE
Have not but I will brother thank you
Hey, those look familiar.
Copy and paste! Thank you for your write up! I just want one to make it lol.
It’s how I learned to do this - from watching a boatload of YT videos and taking the elements that I was most comfortable with. My comfort level for different methods has increased with the more experience I’ve gotten.
It can definitely be overwhelming at first I guess with anything just got to give it a try. I have alot of condensation in my tub looking at the lid. Is that going to be an issue or is it good?
It can be. If there is standing water on your cake, then the cake will not colonize fully and this can reduce yield.
I broke it up and mixed it up into the substrate. Substrate I feel like was at field capacity. I also put wax paper on top.
My last grow was really throttled by standing water on the cakes while they colonized. I’m going to start opening my colonizing tubs weekly to pour off excess water.
It’s a risk balance to think about. Pouring off excess water promotes better colonization, but it also heightens the risk of contamination.
Fingers crossed for ya buddy
Thanks. I have 10 jars that I will be transferring to bulk this weekend.
That will be a nice yield. Hopefully stock you back up for awhile. Yeah I’m definitely worried about contamination. I was going to make three tubs but I thought having two with a lot more mycelium will be better. Idk bro science. Hopefully mycelium likes other mycelium.
Honestly not having done this for 4 or 5 years yielding anything will be successful lol
