ProMix Premium or ProMix Organic?

I am going to try these soon. My questions are, which one is better and is it true that I should add a little more Pearlite before planting? I want to try this next grow without using additional nutrients. Thanks in advance.

I am using ProMix right now (I think the BX version)…I bought locally because I ran out of Suneshine Mix #4. I add more pearlite to both of them, I want them to cycle every other day in 7-gallon pots. adding 10 -15% more pearlite gets me there…although the Sunshine pots seem dryer quicker. I also spike with Mykos and Azos even though there is some in both versions

ProMix doesn’t have any nutrients in it. You WILL have to feed them, couple times a week probably! I use either the BX or HP versions, depends what they have in stock, and don’t add additional perlite. I also use Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect nutrients.

When I used peat I used Dr. Bugbee’s mix:

50% peat (ph of approx 3.8)
50% vermiculite or perlite (brings combination to 4.5 ph)
40g dolomitic lime / cubic foot
10g gypsum (pelletized calcium sulfate) / cubic foot

That sounds very close to the yellow compressed bag I picked up recently from wally mart. Only thing I could find within an hour that didn’t have nitrogen :metal::green_heart:
