Premature Flowering Advice Needed

a novice on my second grow. I was pleased with the results of my first grow - Granddaddy Purple. This time I planted Purple Punch. I have five baby plants. Curiously, one of them has already grown a flower. Is this just a freak occurrence, or is there something that causes it. Here are two pics - one of the plant and one showing the flower. Advice is appreciated.

Is it an auto?

Yes. I had the light on them 24 hours per day until they established leaves. Now, I’m on an 18/6 schedule. LED light on lowest setting at 34" above plants.

It’s not so rare for an auto to flower after 2 weeks. We see one like that every couple of months here in the forum. That said, most will flower at btw 4 and 7 weeks. There is no real cause other than genetics, and there’s nothing we can do about that. The only way to avoid it is to grow photos.

I do suggest photos. Contrary to popular belief, autos are not easier to grow than photos. As autos flower when they want it leaves the new grower less time to correct mistakes. Autos are just more twitchy in general. They tend to be on the smaller size, can be more sensitive to nute levels and other environmental stressors.

The only functional difference between autos and photos is that the grower must change the light cycle to induce flowering. Other than that photos are far easier to deal with.

Thanks. I appreciate the information. I’m glad to know it’s nothing I’m doing wrong.

It happens Grow Bro. The autos I grow typically flower around 40ish days above ground.

I decided to let this one runs it course
