Don’t see anything, but I haven’t since the damage began. So no more cigarette, hot sauce, and soap, correct? Setting up real nice for some budding. I did get a pack of 1,000 predatory mites today, and hung them up.
Hey there my friend. Where is a good place to look into/order some?! Coming up on my next grow and I’d like to be prepared with some proactive ipm instead of reacting!
Check with @Skydiver, I think he just got some if I’m not mistaken. I live in the desert, and have been blessed so far, pest-wise.
Seen this trifecta on Instagram. Nothing take personal but ‘hes to busy bud’ to share knowledge. Ah well. Maybe someone one here that knows more than I could help…
I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. I’ve only done the research, and haven’t had to use them myself. Let me see if I can round up someone who has.
There’s these:

Hey @elheffe702
What’s up?
Not clear who is asking about what? Is it @Jbudz
Mites?
Did you get some predatory mites? Or was it someone else? Yeah, @Jbudz was looking for a good place to get some.
@Jbudz here you go
I see. Just found this article last night about them. Had looked into getting some for eradicating my mite problem but haven’t ordered any but in hind sight maybe should have with all the product I’ve tried.
I’ve seen them on the Arbico web site before
Found info also on a simple and cheap quick kill of them better than 91% rubbing alcohol
Simple Castile soap all natural using 15 ml per quart and keeping the PH of mix above 8.0 kills them dead like now. All exploded etc.
Am applying now on them. Found this out last night.
This kills them on contact but doesn’t interrupt their reproductive cycle like Spinosad or Azamax is supposed to do.
Dr Bronners soaps are all natural containing potassium salts of fatty acids which is the active ingredient that kills mites fleas on dogs when bathing them and many other insects like thrips and caterpillars etc
I based my amount using the above label for their product that they sell and my amount is at 3% per quart solution. Ph was around 9.
I haven’t sprayed leaves yet but am spraying the fabric pots and especially the bottoms and saucers as that’s where they were hiding until I finally realized I needed to concentrate on the bottoms.
Bronners soap costs $18 for a quart and you can use it to shower, hair, pretty much everything and it kills bugs dead.
This product was what I found that lead me to figure out Bronners or Castile soap was the same stuff they used.
Bronners also carries liquid soap used more for cleaning the house and laundry etc so be aware when looking at their web site to choose accordingly. Different ingredients.
Hope this helps
Edit to add …their mixing chart is using 50% potassium of salt fatty acids in other words the soap is diluted 50/50 so I took into account my using pure soap and worked the numbers…hopefully I did it correctly
I dont currently have a grow full on. Just have a couple of babys(moms) I started. I havent had a issue with mites. Just some common white springtails in the past. Just getting all of my ducks in a row, trying to be proactive with some ipm(trying new things) your input and share is much appreciated!
Appliedbio-nomics is that place in the picture I shared if you or anyone else is interested.
I’m having difficulty finding the correct answer for the correct nematodes to combat fungus gnats also
@Sirsmokesalot do you know?
Oh man where am I jumping in? Nematodes? I don’t have any experience with these. In regards to fungus gnats - be sure this is truly what they are. If so you should have great pretty instantaneous results by just drying out your environment. Keep it dry. Remove anything that could hold water and any decaying organic material. I’d use some sticky pads to monitor population levels. Change these out every so often so you can see how the population changes.
All this is very cheap to do and then if you still have an issue, I’d use a good knockdown and not apply directly to plants. Demand CS would be a good choice but not to say it’s the only one. Should work for springtails even tho it’s not labeled for it specifically. I personally like using aerosols but your giving up knockdown and residual so I’d avoid that at first
Why use nematodes?
I use this as preventative and will kill the larvae if present.
Much less expensive and very effective
Springtails are not something i worry about.
Have had them before and as far as I know aren’t something to worry about. If you have additional info regarding them being an issue please let us know @Jbudz
