You can if you’d like. It’s a personal preference. Have any pictures?

Cutting back that far will set the schedule back a little.
You could top it higher up, and bend it down with some low stress training. No wrong way to do it.
Happy growing! :seedling: :sun:

That’s exactly what I’m looking for. These plants are for an outside garden. I jumped the gun. I can’t plant until at least the last week of May.

I think she’s starting on node 6 right now

This was cut back to node from from 8 nodes to 4 nodes so yes you can

The longer stem length should allow you to clone the top

I top above the 5th node…after the 6th node is developed and the plant is at least 6 inches tall. She is looking great.

Hi @David1974
Figure out how many branches or tops you want, then you will know what node to cut at
Note: I always cut off the bottom branches off when I top since they will never support much weight anyway and give you fluffy buds on those branches

@spankyjr1 i jumped the gun a little popped my seeds a little early they going to end up with 14+ weeks of veg before the sun changes to flower. Just trying to slow their height down. It’s been my experience 10 foot plants are great for pictures but miserable to take care of

Topping to keep them short works well. I grew 13 foot tall plants last year in 45 gallon pots. sticking with 10-gallon grow bags this time.

I have this plant that is currently 31 weeks old…only 35" tall. I had an extra plant from my last grow so I have been just nursing her along in a sun room. I have a light (regular LED work light) come on for 1 hour at 1:00 am to stop her from flowering. I made about 20 clones from her to give away this spring.

Cloning is so convenient! Nice looking plant!

Thanks. And i suck at cloning. I took 100 cuttings from a mother plant about 5 weeks ago and only 2 of them rooted

What was your process? Maybe I can assist you with a step that might have been overlooked?

Not that I’m expert, but definitely willing to help.

@Covertgrower well i take the cutting at a desired node or leaf and i remove the bottom two leaves scrape the end a little dip into clonex and i used root riot cubes. I kept a little water in the bottom of the trays. The trays all had domes and i would mist the plants 2 times a day with a spray bottle. I’ve done that 2 years in a row and both times the plants seemed to do really well for about 10 days then just died. I used distilled water this year thinking maybe it was my well water
