Ive got one of my young seedlings starting to stretch about all i want for nodes. Does it look like im safe to top this girl and try to clone the top?
I like waiting for 5 or 6 nodes. I can’t tell how many you have.
Id be cutting between the 5th and 6th node if i dont count the very first set of single leaves.
I would like to see more “stretch” so you can get a good amount of stalk to root.
I would top it myself, but I’m pretty aggressive @TeNNWisKeY . I actually waited too late to top this one in my opinion.
The lower nodes are growing taller around it. I’m sure she’ll turn out fine.
Thank you guys for the input. I would like to see it spread more between the 2 nodes. But if it doesn’t soon. I will just so it the plant will focus on the lower limbs. Its already the tallest of the 3 though.
I don’t top anymore. I just puck fan leaves as needed. Had good results so far
3x3 canopy without topping

@TeNNWisKeY you mentioned cutting between 5 an 6 nodes .I like to take one finger an push the last little growth sideways an it will snap off for a perfect top with less stress on the plant
Happy growing
Slow down colas until side limbs catch up. Just my two cents though
This is my first plant of this strain. It is suppose to be a tall plant grown outdoors. And its a pheno plant. If it was an auto i wouldn’t. My auto i have growing right now is packing tight so it might be stumpy anyway without help.
I don’t usually top @DoneDeal but that one’s way behind the other 3 on the table so I might as well let her have a couple more nodes.
@OldSkunk Agreed definitely.
More nodes in the long run is more fruits
That’s the THC plant. The others are high CBD. My son wants that one to grow big so it needs all the help it can get
Hell yeah I understand his pain. If I can help in any way let me know.
I’m new and learning. I do t know all the words so tell me what a node is and show me what I’m looking for if you can. Please and thank you.
That’s a beautiful plant
A node is where new side branches start. If your plant stretches too much, they’ll be a lot of space between nodes. Typically tighter nodes (closer together ) are better.
It’s where I’d be happy to top, personally
