Hello. I am facing an issue I never had before. I have two autos that are FULL of pistils (still white), they are huge (around 1.60 m tall indoor) but are stuck in this phase for weeks. No buds, no more stretch. Can someone help ?
Some strains of autos can take about as long to finish as photo’s. What light schedule an weeks of flowering.
Was 24/0 but went 19/5 for a 10 days now. No change whatsoever. Maybe even more pistils but no signs of flowering going to a next phase.
Aquafarm, one vitarspectra 600w, one ciello 1000w and a spiderfarmer sf1000.
The plants were so tall I had to get them out the tent two weeks ago. Now they are in a quite large room.
Do you have a picture?
There is a pheno that shows up in autos on rare occasion and they never mature. They just keep growing longer and making pistils but very little trichome production. They will never finish. I have one that I gave up on at 17 weeks. Only seems to be autos that do it. Yours may not be doing this but a picture will help.
It was the one in the back Same age as the two up front but it just kept growing. It was in a 3 gallon pot and over 6ft tall and never stopped growing. Kept pulling the branches down to keep under the lights.
12/12 light schedule should push them into flowering stage. They look to be flowering.
Yeah, I dont see any resin production.
How long has it been flowering?
Here is another from sometime back with another grower.
This one was 28 weeks old.
Gonna follow this one. Very interesting.
They are like that for like 3+ good weeks, prbably even more pistils than before
I was sure this one was gonna be a banger topic
Typically a plant will flower for 9 weeks on average once the pistils show up on top of the stems.
3 weeks is just starting.
Has it been flowering longer that 3 weeks? Is it just stuck like this for 3 week?
Just want to clarify how long it has actually been flowering overall.
Dont want you to give up on a plant that may be ok.
Ive been seeing this more and more here. Looks to be just bad genetics leaning towards ruderalis which is the main cause from this in the last 2 instances. @VirginiaGrowBoy had one quite some time ago and it never grew anything more than a bunch of tiny cotton balls. Based off his experience unless your up for riding it out id say its not worth while saving. Those buds more than likely will never gain weight and youll end up with a million cotton swab size buds
I also remember following the plant that Virginia boy had.
Agree. There seems to be a few common elements.
Larger than normal growth for an autoflower.
Growth and stretch never stops.
No trichomes to speak of.
No stacking of buds into a larger cola.
Pistils don’t wither and turn brown.
No matter how long it never finishes.
Agree wholeheartedly… I grew it out just for shits and giggle just to see it out.
How old was the plant when it started throwing pistils?
Have you checked your timer to make sure it’s accurate? An interruption can cause this, it looks like it was trying to bud but continues to stretch. Like it’s confused,
Oops, didn’t realize these were autos. Have you tried decreasing light time?
Sorry, wanted to update sooner, but I had a 1 day number of posts issue (didn’t know about that).
SO, stuck like this for 3 weeks, more pistils; all white, seems healthy otherwise.
I’ll keep them while the other plants that are flowering “normally” (2 gelatos auto) finish up.
This is a pic of them feb the 11th, just after having moved them from the tent to a room (because of the size, had to buy a studio stand system for the lights, that is some adventure grow). There is certain progress, but not sure it is “good” progress.
Should I try 12/12 ?
Edit : I added a second picture from feb the 18th, I guess there were less pistils at that time than I thought, there are way more pistils for sure in like 10 days. My system is a GH Rainforest, not an aquafarm, my bad. Additional information, I also added the SF1000 at this time.
I went 24/0 all the way, changed to 19/5 ten days ago to see if it would improve things. Didn’t try to go 12/12 yet.
