Pistils not browning

Does anyone know how to make my plant finish faster? I’m on day 72 of flower, and damn near every pistil is still white, and looking at the trichomes, there are a lot of amber on the sugar leaves, but mostly milky, some clear and no amber on the buds. I switched from 12/12 to 11/13 to see if that will help. I caused light stress, because like an idiot, I moved my light down from 20 inches, to 12 inches in one day. So i’m wondering if that’s why it’s not finishing?

Unfortunately they finish when they do.

You may simply have some late calyxes developing, particularly if the plant has been given too much light. Pictures will always help us to help you more accurately.

I agree with Midwestguy. Too much light may be. To mimic nature you would want to decrease light as in the fall the sun moves south and the days get shorter. If the light is too strong the plant will keep developing new flowers and thus pistils.
Pics would really help us with further advice.

Here are a few pictures. What’s weird is I moved my light down to 12 inches, but according to the photone accessory the highest par reading was only around 600, so i’m not sure how the buds got deformed like they are.

You can tell from the shape of the colas that your lighting is too strong.
When its too much light the shape is inverted and the bud is larger at the top than lower down. A properly lit cola will have a taper that is smaller at the top and get bigger lower down the stem. I marked your photo to show you what I mean. Notice the shape of the upper buds. And then the one down lower. The ones closer to the light are growing new flowers on top and inverting the natural shape. Outside there is no difference in the suns intensity no matter how tall a plant gets because the sun is 93 million miles away and it is the same strength top to bottom on the plant. Indoors under a grow light there is a huge difference in how strong the light is between 12, 18 and 24 inches.

Back off that light and/or dim it down and you should see those pistils stop forming and finally mature.

I’ve been playing around with the DLI in my tent and found a good post written by @Nicky abiut it.
In short, he tries ti ramp up to 60 DLI as quickly as he can in the grow and stays there until later flower and backs it down to 45 DLI.

I knew I shouldn’t have moved it down. You think it’s because I moved it down in a day, and not gradual? I just don’t understand how growers get their lights down to 12 inches at 700-1000 par with no issues? My light is only at 60% with 600 par at the most, and my plant is all jacked up. I switched to an 11/13 schedule a few days ago to see if that will help it finish

This cola here is much lower than the others, and it’s also deformed.

Each plant is different. Could just be genetics. Seems it wants to foxtail on you.

Yeah I hope I didn’t lose much potency. I have no idea what strain this even is. I have a pack with no label on them, and I can’t remember where I got them.

Pretty far in. You will be.fine. colors here and there. Some purples. Look good and sticky. I wouldnt stress now. Can back off light and finish them. Check trichs deeper in the flowers for ripeness. If foxtailing just ignore the pistils and go for a trichome watch instead. Just my thoughts. From the development so far you look golden. Some strains will eat themselves at the end. Some no. Close now.

Thanks. Appreciate it. Buds are definitely sticky. This is my first grow with this light.
