Picked up some new pH/EC/ppm Meters

What’s up all? Waiting for the new tent kit to arrive, about to start the indoor grow. Picked up some meters as this is my first grow in a long, long time, hopefully they are worth the $$.

First one is the Apera pH 20. Says it can test pH, EC, TDS, Salinity. Never used it before, still in the box. (Anyone use this?) I may be mistaken as this may ONLY test pH and not the rest.

Next meter is this budget meter Honeforest which tests TDS, EC, Temp.

Then for the super soil i picked up pH test strips.

Am I missing any other meters? I am going to use Photon app for PPFD measuring. I also picked up a cheap soil moisture meter. So i don’t overwater/underwater.

I use an Apera PC60 that measures both pH and PPM. It’s a great meter. You will find it helpful.

Not chemical ones. The Apera does everything the Honeforest and test strips do, and measures temperature, too.

Many on the forum gauge the need for watering by lifting the pot and judging its weight. If you have an identical pot with dry soil in it, you can use it as a reference until you don’t need it anymore.

You’ll want to buy some storage solution to put in the storage cap for the Apera’s sensor. I believe that kit comes with 4 and 7 pH calibration solutions, but – oddly – not storage solution. Anyone’s will do.

The Photone app will suffice for light measurements if you use the correct light-source setting and the paper diffuser described in the directions. Getting the correct light-source setting will likely be a $6.50 upgrade.
