Hello, i planted OG Kush 4 weeks ago. I got the seeds fro. A seed farm as an extra as a buy 3 get 3 free. Anyway, i assumed that they were autos but realized that they are photos. Do i need to anything different other than switch my lighting from 18/6 to 12/12. I have it in an 4x8 tent that my autos have done really well in. Is this a completely different grow? Ill send pictures later, but it is a beautiful looking plant
The main difference is that photos require a light period change to flower. Autos will flower as soon as they become sexually mature (usually 4 to 7 weeks.)

What midwest said but also that you have time to correct issues in Photoperiods prior to changing light schedules for flower. Autos will go into flowering healthy or not, its why most growers try to steer new growers away from them at first.

How do you determine that it is time to switch the light to start the flowering process?
Whenever you and the plant are ready. An important thing to keep in mind is that a plant can double in size during the first few weeks of flowering. It can create height clearance issues in smaller grow spaces.

Is the flowering stage longer for photos? Approximately 12-16 weeks from start of Flowering?

Eight to 10 weeks from the start of flowering (when pistils first appear at the tips of the plant.) Sativas can take a little longer.

When I first started growing I would put an auto in with my photos to give me a little nudge about switching to flower if it wasn’t on my radar
