That was a lie, it wasn’t a photo of the light test, although it looked identical, I had my thumb over the lens… here’s my first attempt before I turned the flash off…
we are getting that rain on the weekend, It reminded me of something that ive read in other posts about blackouts and hermi’s. so im going to put off flowering until after…
man we get a lot of blackouts in summer. but mainly in the storms at night, so I was going to have my lights on 6am-6pm. I have a generator but it powers the whole property over 8 tones I think, uses 10 liters diesel an hour, and I have to start it… thoughts?
and ll make the other systems tomorrow. (not 4 u, to remind me.)
oowwww… the SS coils are in the city, so I can get the chiller going at some stage. but im not too worried, my temps are 72 constantly… easy when I control the whole room… but I will get the chiller going… ut with so much to do.
I run my lights from 6 pm to 6 am …
Power is cheaper during those hours and less heat …
Lights out wont cause Hermies…
Lights on , during lights out , will cause Hermies…
@xxpain4uxx, ok pain for u im in the same boat I think just a little in the future., scroll to the top. im going to build one now ill take photos if u want…
also I have my first thread where I made a lot of mistakes you will avoid starting here.
the main problem was root issues, but mainly ego? perhaps, I should have asked for more help, hydro and indoors is quite different if id started like u I wouldn’t have wasted 4 months and a lot of coin.
I didn’t really explain, this is essentially my first hydro grow. I stuffed up the grow before flower, in the last thread and tried to save 9 clones 3 clones took… this gave me hope…
so the tub there is my first inside grow going to flower, soil or hydro. and all the dwc tubs are just one tub pumping to another, with air and no light… your in good hands with everyone whos helping,
if you read through you may get answers to your questions, I asked a lot of questions… hey @peachfuzz…
so I have the new system built to replace the silver one…
moved the next six to go into the flower room into their new home, this lid I can pick up and walk over, and I don’t have to pull their roots apart so there is 3 money maker, 2 mystery seeds, 1 big bud/ww that got held up, from last time.
@peachfuzz, should i just cull one, the chocolope is a sativa dominant i think… make things a whole lot easier… or one of the mystery plants but wich one…
thanks bud, yeah the pressure cooker idea is over, with the soaking, the pressure cleaner and the air compressor , I like the adding peroxide each day and forcing it through, its where ‘i’ thought I was going to come unstuck, using it through the grow as the plants grow the root surface area increases and if u don’t top up the sterilizers so risky… for me i forget things like that. and it costs a lot when u have even 2-300 litre volume… where as the bacteria sets up shop and actively protects, interesting but if u really compare the two for use in a system… for me.
I hardly sterilize a thing. If something is really dirty or clogged I might clean and sterilize it butt other than that I just try and rely on the microbiology that i add to the reservoir over sterilizing.
I add hydroguard, hygrozyme, and clear pond.
Obviously nothing works as well as it did when it was clean but I’m lazy and do as little as possible so as long as nothing is obstructing something then I usually don’t worry about it. I will clean in the middle of a DWC grow butt hardly ever sterilize.
Where I said “microbiology” above, that’s exactly what I was referring to and not organic fertilizers. Those are bad for DWC and will clog the hell out of your air stones
If sludge is your enemy in DWC and not salt build up then this product, which is formulated for clearing up stagnant ponds, will do wonders for your reservoir
Im using hydroedge (hydroguard), stresszime (aquarium product, I got before I got the hydroguard and used it exclusively on your advice (and I understand microbiology). And it worked perfectly:smile:).
and buddy, I just got white shark, interesting thing with this, I don’t think im going to add it all the time or ill do one big dose and several smaller doses. they should set up shop in the roots and live… thatzs my way of thinking… and I only have a small jar…
the day I moved over to biological control of my systems was the first time I thought, after a long string of mistakes, I can do this. sterilizing and the cleaning… was never going to work for me…
but I do clean, almost fermenter clean and sterilise, everything before I use it now… then I cant blame myself.
now I put a product in about a month ago and it stained coated everything black.
so my roots look bad, but they smell really good. would you clean this with something?
