i have been keeping notes… on here, and 1/4 strength canna, never been burnt. look happy, but at the moment they are eating more then they are drinking, so 1/3 strength keeps everything easy, then 1 ml a gallon armour si is all i can hande dealing with before i may change to general hydro, not really a cost thing, yeah it comes in, but pwhhh… if your going to worry about $10 a gallon if your doing this you in trouble, imo. it a supply problem, if spoken to the owner of the hydro shop, from getting stopped at customs to the nutes behaving weird after a couple of months on a hot boat… so if i can find a supplier,

yeah man those two are out of control in different ways, one thing we will agree on is there is a bit of work to get it dialed in, i wished it wasn’t… im almost there i can feel it…,

i don’t have much choice in the matter anyway, plant ahead of time forces u to work for your goal, even though its a constant pressure if your on the right track its good. and if it goes bad you have backups.

mate you are a godsend… seriously, years off my learning. so helpful, never be unforgotten,… legend.

ohhh i just thought of the way to finish my pots, with the current ones if it grows one big tap root it can be annoying because it can slide up and down, i was going to melt the pots and bend them in, but if you can imagine the geometry isn’t quite right. and would take an extra 3 mins per pot id say… too long.

this way i already have those clips or they take like 20 seconds to cut 10 with the drop saw… cool… you have done nothing but your mantra of keeping things as cheap, simple and easy is getting through… kinda….:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

My day started the same as any other, i pulled a system out, put the girls up on blocks added 7 kgs of ice to the new system… and started filling…, only this time i remembered and drove the 24 miles to get the ice before i pulled the system out…, and i have spares…

one thing i really should point out is the lost in translation when it comes to unit size… so instead of 1 Litre bottles i have in the freezer i now have 3 1 GALLON bottles in the freezer and 20 kgs of ice…, peachfuzz understands…

then i mixed the nutes in the tote that has one design feature i love,

.

and that i drilled through the kick and through the floor, so when i whant to drain i jus unplug, and plug in the drain hose…

and then…

i have these ready to go…

, so im starting to get happy.

then i just gotta build one more…

ok , i can have a break now and wait for that beautiful, ph 7, 0ppm liquid to fall from the sky……

have a good one legends.:face_with_raised_eyebrow::smile:

I’ve been interested in it for a while @peachfuzz nutrient wise is hydro more efficient if your able to avoid having to change cuz of complications say everything is running smoothly u use more nutes in soil or dtw systems

So, i installed those plastic C clips that help support the roots to half of the plants no the least the two in the middle, it makes sense now, they were slipping and sinking into the tote, that looks better…

topping the smaller ones and trimming off leaves that criss crossed the centre of the plant, it was dense and humid in there, i uncovered loads of hidden cola points, was this the right call? too late now just curious? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

When I was in soil , I just mixed in dry nutrients into my soil and only gave them some additives like cal-mag and stuff when I thought they needed it…
Grew for a long time in soil , but I could never really get the yields that I wanted , even with the perfect environment and plenty of light…
Then a friend of mine that grows started using dwc and when I seen the yields that he was pulling , I figured that I would give it a try…
My very first attempt with 6 dwc buckets under one 600 watt hps in a scrogg , I pulled 28 oz’s of dried and curred top shelf…
From that point on , I never went back to soil…
Then I had to figure out a better and easier way to grow with dwc since I was running a perpetual grow…
That’s when I took a hard look at what other people were doing with rdwc and I didn’t like what I was seeing…
They were using to much equipment and there were to many places for leaks and it always seemed like they were always having issues with there plants during some part of the grow by running separate buckets that were all tied together …
So then I decided to design and build what I thought would work best , with minimal chances for leaks and a way for all of the plants to get what they want when they wanted it and as a bonus I added a way for me to scrogg without touching the plants during the whole flowering cycle and it was also a way to chill the water if necessary…
So back to your question…
It took me a while to figure out how to give them nutrients without either wasting them and adding to much or not giving them enough and then plants suffering…
Now that I have things figured out , it’s so danm simple it’s crazy…
When I buy nutrients , I either buy them by the gallon or 2 gallon jugs and at $25 to $45 bucks for 1 or 2 gallons of nutrients is super cheap because I really don’t use much…
In vegg I just keep a gallon of balanced nutrients and only add as I think they need it , but the mixture never changes…
As they get older I just add more of that jug to the water…
In flower I only feed the plant’s 4 times…
And only every 3 weeks…
First day of light flip , they get fed…
3 weeks later everything is sucked out and they get fed again …
And so on and at 9 weeks is usually the last feed , unless it looks like it might be a 16 week strain…
So for me after all of the different ways that I’ve grown , this is the easiest , cheapest and most reliable way for me to grow…
I only use water and nutrients… no media…
Everything that I use is reusable , besides the water and nutrients…
Another bonus , is never having any bug issues…

yep, peachfuzz and I met when I was making all the mistakes he was describing…

my system was so complicated, ‘dirty’ and heavy on nute usage per plant… it was essentially an undercurrent system…

then it became simpler, then simpler… now its just a bucket pumping to another with air.

my systems are a bit bigger volume wise compared to peach’s so its a bit more noob1e friendly,

but even still my systems have at most have 8 gallons more then peach’s that’s around 1.2 gallons per plant of diluted solution per plant then peachfuzz per grow… its nothing in comparison cost wise, $1-3 per plant per grow extra for me…

I wanted to go hydro to reach the yields id read so much about (over a long time)and quality of product.
and I wanted to turn over volume as quick as I can…

but for me finally it looks like this now, roughly figures… and im new to hydro.

the screens are just under 2m2… the lights are 400 watts each and I have 2 per table… so you can do the math…

the room is 4m by 4 m, and I fit my misses study in there, so im essentially using half that space… not really it sounds like a jet aeroplane lives in there, but there is room for god knows how much room I have for veg but a lot, atm its 18 full size allocations but it could be double that easy

and the environment issues with growing outside… on shot one opportunity… theft, cops, pests, even though yields can be ginormous…:smiley: ahhhh I hadn’t got the buds nice and dense… always. I could with the smaller ones… anyway…

so quite simply IMO for me, I don’t see how u can get more efficient with no media, some nutes and some water, and im good with setting thing up on timers etc…and this will only improve,
but the systems peachfuzz has developed are so perfected, (Thankyou for the gift of knowledge… master…) I may get close to my goals.

and even though I have bottles apon bottles of stuff, at the moment im really using 7-8 things

Kettle… btw these are just my opinions not trying to start an argument…

Ps… you didn’t tell people if it alls running pretty perfect they grow like weeds, but when you don’t they just stop… and start shriveling… instantly or your whole room can smell like rotten pork or… something when u get rot and it al dies…

Ok @peachfuzz, im not going to be changing to general hydroponics nutrients… it appears apparently they will no longer be shipping to Australia…

ive never really been unhappy with canna,

but question, in flower what else do u add, what will I need to be prepared?

thanks

ummm, I just realised something, if im all scrogged up, I cant mix my nutes in the rez can I…

so I should fit this in the room shouldn’t I…

maaaan…. :grimacing::thinking:

This is everything that I use in flower…
The only thing that I add if it’s needed but don’t add at all normally , is the (magnum) alls it is , is magnesium…
But since I use cal-mag I usually am fine with just that…

Armor-si
Cal-mag
Micro
Bloom
Grow
Diamond nectar
Hydroguard
Gravity 10
Turpinator
Crystal burst
Snowstorm ultra
And ph up and down if necessary…
The (green cleaner) is just there incase I think I could have a bug issue…
It’s still brand new…
I just make a gallon jug of nutrients and poor them into my remote resovior…

You make it sound so easy but I just spent so much time doing my soil perpetual so that’s gotta be perfected first

Plus I’m in controversial best bud range 100% organic with these rspecs and that moon shine it seems like I’m onto something really it so nice and fast growing like something I’ve never seen the full line of emerald harvest is very simple and not a sign if burn or deficiency at all and I just pushed the 1050ppm line
