Ph fluctuation in Coco

I grow in cocoa I try to keep my pH going in around 5.5 but on the runoff it’s down into the fours so I have been increasing my pH going in to around six or higher. Still have pH coming out around five is there a solution to stabilize this?

You may have a mineral salt buildup in your coco. What are you using for nutes?

A good flush will wash out the mineral salts and reset your root zone pH.

Coco for Cannabis website suggests monitoring runoff EC to guide your feedings, but not pH. He says unless your plants are showing signs of something being wrong, you can do more harm than good by trying to change the pH in the rootzone. As long as your input pH is in the proper range I wouldn’t worry about it unless something is wrong.
He also suggests flucuating the pH of your solution between 5.7 and 6.3 at different points in the grow.

This is his feeding schedule. I don’t use GH nutes, so I don’t follow this exact schedule, but it’s a great point of reference. Look at his input pH ranges, and if you want to learn more check out his website, it’s called coco for cannabis.

What’s your feeding schedule look like? This stuff seems to have a tendency of happening when not feeding enough or drying out too much in coco.

Agreed with DBN, how often are you irritating your coco? What nutrients are you using?

IME in coco, if the pH starts dropping down in the 4s, either something is wrong with the inputs, or it could be the start of root rot.

With coco once the plant gets a couple sets of leaves start watering for 20-25% run off daily with full strength nutrients. If the plant is looking good don’t worry about what’s the run off is

Just wondering, did you buffer your coco prior to planting ?

That’s an overlooked step coco has sodium and sodium likes Cal Mag the results are possible deffiencies.

Agreed but feeding. Mature plants in coco get kinda upset with straight watering.

It’s coco from last grow removed as much root ass possible could old root decay cause it

I did buffer my cocoa before planting

Did you re-buffer it after your last grow?
That site I told you about has a perfect step by step tutorial on how to reuse coco, including re-buffering it.

Yes, I did re-buffer my cocoa before this grow. I will have to go and read that site sounds very interesting. Thank you very much.

Just ordered their book from Amazon. Thanks again.
