my RUNNOFF 's ph is 6.6% I am growing in coco coir what should I do to bring it down or is this acceptable? i was told the range for Runnoff is between5.8 and 6.3 in coco.
I ph my nutes/Ro mix at 5.8 to 5.9 and it has slowly crept its way up over a 3 week period last time i measured it was 6.32 too close to change anything and wasnt a huge jump from normal.readings which was usually between 6.2 to 6.28. Ive give all the equipment &accessories lists of what I use below.
Am i in a good spot being 3 weeks into flower stage? Ive never grown before indoors especially.
I am using cropsalts with silica as my nutes always Ph at 5.8 to.5.9
Vivosun tent & products
Pro 32"x32"x63" tent
E42 controller (smart grow system)
(1) 9",(1) 6", & (2) 4"circulation fans with natural wind function. I use 6 inch fan for plant and others to move air from top.and bottom.into.the center of tent my light also has a fan built in .
4 inch duct fan
150 watt Aerolight & Luma ray side supplemental lights
H09 humidifier
Dehumidifier 440ml (very small) I dont remember the model #
(2) e25 wall plug controllers with temp/humidity probes
750/1500 watt heater used on 750 watt
Grow records/ schedule
My tenp/humidity is Daytime 80/70
nighttime 75/63
VPD average 1.0
12on /12 off light flower stage
DLI between 27 to 36
PPFD between 400 to 690 usually in 600’s
I feed everyother day between 1 to 1.25 gallons of cropsalts/silica mixture after a gallon is fed through a self watering aystem (cheap one but it works temu special) i add more slowy with a sprayer until I get enough Runnoff to measure my ph. Sometimes i barely get that! Because im afraid to over water it and cause root rot.
Any suggestions, constructive criticisms, &/or comments are welcomed.
How can i bring it down? Just feed/flush it with water thats a low ph? if so what should I ph water at? Also It was fed this morning that was the reading , should i wait to flush it or do immediately? If not with water what should I flush it with?

In coco, you should be going in at 5.8-6.1. To get your runoff ph down, you will have to add feed events, or feed more often, and/or get more runoff per watering. Coco needs watering at the very minimum every day, if it’s allowed to dry, ph rises and EC spikes. Coco needs to stay wet, even soaked, the roots still get Oxygen in coco.
I grow in Coco and feed 800-850ppm every day, 3 times a day to runoff
That is the advantage of coco. If you were feeding more frequently there is no “junk” lingering in the coco. If it were me, I would be feeding to ample runoff more frequently to help flush the old, and bring in the new.
I went and reread, saw your feeding every other day, you will have to feed coco every day, so you might want to reprogram your watering system. To fix them quick do this; mixed a feed at normal strength or a bit lower, ph it at 5.8. Pour the nute mix thru them until runoff is 5.8-6.0, it might take a gallon or two, but coco resets much easier than soil. Pour a quart and wait a minute to allow salts to dissolve, repeat until runoff reaches desired ph. Then up your feed frequency and runoff and coco will reward with with stupid fast growth.
I’ll tag you in my journal, I usually grow in Promix but this grow is coco and I may switch or make my own mix of them and perlite. I also went to Autopots to cut down watering time, I was two hours a night….
Thank you!, myself I’m going to try DWC i have a 2 plant kit not sure if ill have room if i get plants like this one. I was thinking of upgrading to a 2x4 or 2x5 tent
I have my ph coming down from 6.7 down to 6.4 now in 2 days ran 4 gallons of 5.8 through it on the first day once an hour for approximately 30 sec or until i got atleast 16 to 28 fl. oz. of runnoff.
On the first day i watched it drop to 6.5 then rise to 9.0 i even calibrated my meter because i thought it was off or I was seeing things & going crazy however it was correct.
It came back down.to 6.78 after another gallon & half of 5.8 water.I didn’t want to stress the plant too much and cause root rot so i just couldn’t keep feeding it unlimited water for some reason it wasnt dropping anymore that night so i .discontinued the flushing & changed the feed schedule to atleast 3 up to 4 x daily depends on my work However after trying to unsuccessfully lower the ph anymore that night instead I put a half gallon of 5.89 nute mix in and drained the runoff & I then increased the amount of feedings in a day from ever other day to a ½ gallon, 3 or 4 times a day.
enough to recieve atleast 20fl oz of runoff
I watched it slowly decrease after 2 days from 6.78 to 6.48 now every feed or atleast every other feed drops it a little at a time and my plant seems happy
I tried to follow your advice but spent 5 hours getting it to drop to 6.5 then jump to 9 then back down to 6.7 and hover there so i discontinued the drowning. now its 6.48 and still dropping. I started this plant from a dispensary seed that was in my flower as a joke kind of see what happens thing that ended up me purchasing $1000 in grow equipment & nutrient along with a shit ton of reading & asking ?'s etc.. You now see the current product as of today. Picture attached. My plant seems happy & healthy.
Is this an acceptable way to bring my ph down? Or should I have flushed it down?
You did flush with the extra water, just in steps. It doesn’t matter how much water you give her, as long as it’s at one watering, it’s the frequency of watering that causes issues. Your doing fine, congrats on solving an issue, you’ll have plenty more to deal with, main thing is remember what was wrong and how you fixed it, write notes if you need to. If I don’t document, I forget. Except numbers, never forget numbers, still remember all my childhood neighbors phone numbers and addresses. Always remember shit I don’t need any more. Lol
Same way with #s i think it comes naturally with people who deal with scales & cash everyday! Lol . Im good with addition , subtraction and I remember my credit card #s,Driver license #, ss#, etc…and phone #s from.when i use to actually dial the number not look for a name to call. Off subject though. I thank you for your help. Your plants look great. When should.I start to cut my nutes & add a bloom boost (cake) cropsalts version. It says day 21 of flower which fo me is tomorrow. I want to make sure i get the transfer correctly. Most people would stop.feeding and flush with water im adding the cake to improve my terpenes. I just want to make sure i get it done on correct day i know I saw it somewhere but just dont have the time to look. I have approximately 10 hours of grass cutting to do today, Im a landscaper, my times limited and i just want to make sure i get the day/schedule correct. Thank you for everything youve done !
