Peat Pots and Potting Up

I know all the peat pot manufacturers say you don’t have to remove plants from the pots to transplant them. That the pot will break down on its own in the new soil…

Do you trust them to break down before your plants are rootbound? If they will, it’s a great way to prevent root damage when transplanting, but I’m skeptical.

Hmm… Crickets in here.

@Arrow @Hellraiser @DankBank22 @PurpNGold74 , any thoughts? Oh and I heard this @Myfriendis410 guy knows a few things too… :wink:

That’s interesting. I figured they were a world wide thing. We have multiple brands here that make multiple sizes. Jiffy is the most common. That’s what I had my 3 seedlings in. They make everything from a 2" to an 8" I think.

Brother, I can count on my one hand how many outlets cater for the home grower, and we are legal. Don’t think anybody supplying that very soon…:sunglasses::v:

Personally I don’t like them, @Hellraiser made a good point they do break down just not fast enough.

I just kept mine in. Thou you can still see it on top on the soil. Its been growing great! Id just put it i and call it a day. If you feel weird, as i did. I just cut an x in the bottom so the roots would flow. And they did. Peet pods all the way man.

The only rootbound issues i found. Was with a reg pot, not a cloth bag. But,but. The reg pot grew amazing! So im at a cross with the next grow.

I don’t like them either. @Not2SureYet is using some interesting bags that break down…

That’s crazy. We’ve had them over here for years. Long before they ever thought about legalizing cannabis. Walmart usually stocks at least 4 different sizes during the spring and summer for people who are growing flowers and vegetables.
