Partial Daylight and Artificial Light

I want to grow outdoor this Summer but there is no spot in my yard that gets more than 4 hours of direct sun light. Is it possible to, after those four hours, to move the plants into an artificially lit tent for four hours and then repeat the process each day?

Four hours direct the rest indirect should do it

It’s gonna be a real pain moving them every day. Depending on how large they get it may only be a temporary solution.

Any way to open things up? What’s shading it, trees or houses?

Go for it. Learning is great. This spot gets 3-4 hours on a good day. But should provide clone material, some day. 15,000 sq ft lot and only 40 sq ft might grow, in obscurity.

I tried this once but ended up getting thrips. I would just choose indoor or outdoor, not both.

Thanks 2GreenThumbs. I am going to try it.

I do indoor but the yield is pretty slim. I will give it a try and see what happens.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi. Thanks for replying. I have built a small platform on my kids old red wagon for moving them around and will move them into a grow light environment in the garage at night. It may be a waste of money but life is short.

Thanks,

Mike

Nice set up. I like your garden.

I am going to give it a shot.

Thanks for the reply.

Your gonna move them indoors at night under a light? Say wha… What u growing if I may ask?

I for one don’t believe in changing the orientation of my plants, or moving them around like a caravan headed to a Grateful Dead concert.

I would pick the sunniest spot, open it up best I could and put them in the ground by cutting off the bottom of my pot.

@Kepi1917 I grew with limited direct sun myself and had really good results. I say go for it and forget about dragging them in every night. Atick’em in your soil and let them be.

They’ll learn to be super efficient with what they get lol.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I have to move them (in my son’s old modified wagon as the sunniest place is in my driveway.

Thanks for the reply.

I move them everyday in and out, direct sun and uv is very very good for the plants

Thanks a lot. You are the first one whom I have met who does it and it helps to know that you have been successful.
