Greetings! My outside Runtz are going well. 7 foot tall and not one hiccup till they started flowering.
I have noted deep in the plant that these weird brown spots developing on leaves. Was told before just leaves… just would be glad to know if I should be concerned.
The leaves feel like 1200 grit sand paper. The one close shot you can zoom and see white something. I don’t see anything moving under loop and I cant wipe the white or brown off leaves. Considering I have a few seasons under my belt, and know that this just happens, should I just shut up and sit downn?
My gut is saying a fungus of some sort but not % sure.
You could remove some of the larger fan leaves that are blocking air flow if you’d like tho.
If it’s humid your way at all , that large of a tree is gonna need the air movement against mold and rot later.
Nice lookin plant btw.
I’m leaning towards either fungus gnats or ph. Either one will show a root problem with that type of leaf damage. the overall plant looks fine though… maybe let her dry out a bit (if you can)
I guess should have added that I remove the yellowing leaves and then noticed brown spots. The other thousand or so leaves are all green. So maybe diverting nutes then maybe decomposition? Plants I have grown indoors all yellow up in flowering. Doesn’t really effect quality of the flower. For some reason it is pulling nitrogen from fan leaves in middle of plant?!?! I seen it happen in 3 grows so far.
All the leaves I posted come from middle of plant, inside leaves.
There is actually 4 plants there. I didn’t think the Runtz were going to tree. I already hacked a few arms off the one that was trying to choke the other plants sunlight. Then removed all the stem growth to about a foot off ground. You can easily see the tree bark on stem now. Maybe 3rd week of flower? And we had our first 50 degree night. I’m just glad only seeing problem on yellow(ing) leaves
I would like to thank you guys for helping me with this spotting problem. I lollipopped (a little), plucked about a thousand un-sunned leaves to increase airflow and changed watering schedule and they have responded well.
Just another reason why this board is the definitive edge for growing!
