One of my outdoor plants is showing some yellowing and black spots in the leaves. It has been raining a lot lately. All my plants are in garden beds with a living soil mix. I used a compost tea with EWC, kelp and bone meal and some bio-phos about 2 weeks ago. This seems to have started at the beginning of flowering.
Older leaves will start dying during flower. It’s normal. That said; your plants need some serious thinning to prevent mold and bud rot. It would be wise to get on some kind of program now so that you will realize a good harvest.
In future you might consider using containers instead of in ground so that you can move inside during wet weather. If you don’t deal with this soon you will be in real trouble.
Thank you. I actually defoliated about 3 weeks ago but I guess I didn’t go hard enough. What am I shooting for with defoliation? I removed 1/3 of the plant completely on the bottom and some fan leaves throughout. Is there a look I’m going for? Do I want to see through the plant? Do I want to aim for light being able to get through the whole canopy?
Hey its for air dont worry about light, defol is now only as needed to improve air flow thru the plant. Until you can see a bit through it from the side-view, but still looks like a solid green canopy from above, thats what I aim for anyway… Not needing a 1/3 defol or bottoms-removal or nothin like that.
Yep sorry I jumped in but I thought 410 must have sat down for a bowl or something.
I would take some leaves for sure, I’ve taken a few preflower-buds that seem like theyre gonna be hidden or bunched up into another limb. Basically just enough to pass thru from the side
@FrankRizzoI would go out after it rains and give it good shake try keep water off of it as much as possible and as @Myfriendis410 saying trim it up try get good air flow it also will keep it alot dryer happy growing my friend
