See growing outdoors comes with a whole sort of other problems and challenges like you have to deal with bugs ,wind ,rain ,hot temps and animals ,but in saying this you can grow some amazing plants outside if you want big bushy plants with plenty of branches u need to do lst training and fimming or topping .I find fimming to be the better way to get bushy plants and more branches ,when u fim you fan end up with four to six new branches with one fim do that all over the plant and you will end up with alot of new branches ,and with topping you get new branches aswell but u will only get two new branches so with a good training program and fimming or topping and lollipopping you can get those monster plants and buds but with this u want to have a good bug control program aswell as bugs can cause ur plant to have less yeild .Also if u prepare ur soil before you plant u shouldnt have to many problems. Indoor growing you still can have problems with bugs and heat stress wind burn from fans but the same applies from indoor to outdoor when it comes to training ur plants do lst training and fimming or topping and lollipopping the training is the same for both applications

This is my second outdoor run.

Luckily I am in an arid climate so don’t have to worry about bud rot. My garden is in a side yard so it is protected from wind and hail. No critters either - at least ones that like cannabis. Haven’t had any major issues with bugs. Just a grasshopper chomping now and then.

What I like is I can grow my legal limit of 12 which should stock the pantry for quite some time. The sun is free. I am using Earthdust which is as close to add water and sun and let them grow.

What I don’t like is the dude five doors down has a hemp patch in his front yard! I usually end up a dozen seeds in each plant.

I also try to have an inside grow going almost constantly. Indoors I have more problems with pests, lighting, cold temperatures in the basement, and making sure the humidifier stays filled. Ambient RH is 15-20% 9 months out of the year. The electricity bill is $50 higher per month since I started growing.

I really don’t have a preference. I just enjoy growing. I don’t imbibe and grow for my family and friends.

Best to all!

It still blows my mind how the difference in a plant size between indoor and outdoor. Same plant just outside grows totally different than that same plant grown inside. I mean same genetics. Just crazy to me. Of course so is auto flowering plants? Who came up with the idea and skill set to cross mj with ruder.? Crazy smart people!! The last 20 years has changed growing as i knew it.
