Great subject!
And your girls are a bit small I think you might be better off with some filtered light till they get a little bigger at least forbpart of the day @peachfuzz made a great point in morning light ![]()

Your starts will get a great leg up if you were to put them under 24 hours of artificial light, which you could do for very little investment. A 300 watt led and a small space is all you need.
I started mine indoors and moved them out when they where around 3-1/2 to 4 feet tall
They will grow nice and big now looking to harvest around mid to late October ![]()

@Myfriendis410
You make an excellent point.
Itās legal here in MA, but there are restrictions like visibility and security, not to mention the issue of man-made lights at night. Moving them is the solution, yes, but five containers is a P.I.T.A. I could get a cart like yours ā which is awesome, by the way. But then Iām spending more money, and my husband is already starting to complain about how much Iāve spent.
Iām gonna have to think about this.
Thatās what I tried to do but I jumped the gun and put em out too early. As a result I ended up building a bigger box which I tried to avoid and all of my plants went into flower. Making it all even more fun: the 4 I was going to put out all summer will be finishing right around the time we leave for Europe.
Awesome lol
I had switched to 12/12 because my green house where delayed and hieght indoors is a issue so any way the green house showed up a week after I switch
I still out them out it will be like mister cropping the whole plant I hope lol
I donāt understand what you mean that you had to build a bigger box and all your plants went into flower. So will they stay inside? Iām confused.
Iāve been putting the girls outside in the sun during the day and putting them under a grow light at night. Is that an ok thing to do? I knew they would get a good start with 24/7 light so I have been doing it with both sun and grow light.
@Countryboyjvd1971 So will you be able to put them in the greenhouse now?
@Lia, I know what you mean about expense. I had no idea the money I was going to have in this project. Iām a widow so what I spend is only of concern to me⦠lol!! Does your hubby not toke? That cart was just the thing for me and I know I will really love it when I get them into big planters and moving them around wonāt be an issue. Maybe he will let you have one when you tell him what a hassle it is moving them separately and that you need to keep them in containers. Maybe he will be understanding. ![]()
Thanks, everyone for your help. You are awesome! Happy growing! ![]()
@Lornakins, I had this perfect plan for my six plants. On 15 March I put 2 of them on 12/12 in my (then) 3ā X 4ā X 6ā box and put the other 4 into a greenhouse outside, as we technically had 13 hours of light at the time. Apparently the plants disagreed with me and also flowered but as the days are getting longer either the plants would turn hermi or eventually revert to veg. I didnāt want to take the chance to see them go hermi on me and my box was now too small so. ā¦
So putting them out too early and confusing them on hours of light causes them to go hermi?
@Lornakins yes I put them out into green house they where not in flower long and should revert back into veg
I will be building a out scrog screen to put them under as well probably this weekend
I dusted them with DE when I put them out to prevent bugs thatās the white powder you see
@Myfriendis410 are you growing auto or photo plants ?
Photoperiod. I really have no interest in autos. This is as much to give me something to do as much as growing weed.
I donāt grow autos either bud I may just for the hell of it one day so I can say I did but I like the control you have with photos myself
How long where they in flower ?
Mine where in about 1-2 weeks closer to 2 but not quite ?
Just wondering my plants seem to be doing ok
Since I put them out
Understand that I hurt these two I just harvested by not applying nitrogen when they needed it, stressing the plants at a bad time and affecting yield. Then I had bud rot issues which forced me to harvest a bit early on the WW. I put them in to flower on 15 March and harvested after 50 days on the WW with 30% amber trichomes and the Og Kush 60 days. Maturation is early and I attribute that in part to air flow, stress, nutrient deficiency etc. The next two, if they finish before we leave for Europe, will do MUCH better.
10/4 @Myfriendis410 live and learn
I just read this thread. Very interesting topic. I had been wondering about the sun light issue myself. Mine get morning sun about 6:30 7am and move in to a partial to full shade around 2 to 3 pm. Which if Iām hearing right this is more than ok for them. I have 8 plants sitting where I had 3 last year. They 3 I had last year yielded some huge buds. This is my 2nd grow and so far they are way ahead of last years crop.
Wow, Sasquatch, sounds like you are doing great for a second-time grower. This is my first grow ever and I am as nervous as a new mother⦠lol! I think the way you are giving yours sunlight is the ideal situation. I have started doing mine the same after others here said to give them dappled sunlight when the afternoon sun gets very hot. Happy growing and good luck to you.
@Lornakins I made my fair share of uh ohs before I found this site. Theres a yuge amount of info on this site. I discover more every day. Good luck with your 1st crop!!
Yes, this site is awesome! It has already kept me from making big uh ohs that I would have made if I hadnāt been reading this site. I really donāt know where you could find more, or better info than on this site. Plus, the members are terrific and will help you in any way they can. Growers are a special lot. ![]()
Thanks, Sasquatch! ![]()
