I have been saving my soil after harvest and have it in a 20 gallon pot and feed and water it every so often. I am still gonna switch to COM soils and dry amendments along with the Organic line from AN for nutes.

So curious about getting a decent organic setup rolling here. I’m looking at Build-a-Soil and they have it broken down fairly easy but I wanna make sure I what I need to get growing organic. If I’m focusing on one 10-20 gallon pot would this be a decent route to go??? Also if I were to recycle this soil after harvest how would I “recharge” it???

Would this be enough to get rolling organically and to create Living Soil to reuse a few times??? I assume from what I’ve read, I would simply recharge it with craft blend or something similar after harvest??? Is that correct???
Am I on the right path here folks or does anyone have any recommendations??? I got some time before I start my next grow so I really wanna plan it out to ensure I have everything. Also I believe I’d have to “cook” the soil for a month or so??? Let me know what y’all think is my best route to start growing organically!!! Appreciate each and every one of y’all!!!
I’ve been doing some reading and I like their approach. I can’t help but wonder if you couldn’t replicate the recipe with a visit to HD or Wally World.
Kinda what I was thinking but they seem like a good company. I will always support a smaller company doing good before a big box store. Not to say I won’t shop at HD. Hell I got their card (thanks 80 year old house) hahaha. But hey, if I can support a smaller company I’ll do it. Though if the cost is drastically different maybe my wallet will appreciate a trip to HD instead hahahaha
This is what I’m currently using and setting up with 15 gallon bags with build a soil 3.0 and a 1.5 cu ft bag of fox farm ocean Forrest which is about 11 gallons but with the added things like pumice and rice hulls and lave rock at bottom it fills to around 13 gallons but that leaves room for top dressing during grow and to re amend for the next grow no till just pull/twist main stem out.
I’ve used the same re amended soils in pots 3 times without dumping etc. just add nutrient to top and work in and keep the critters alive in soil by keeping it moist even in down time as well as watering with aerated compost teas etc.
(I modified things shown on my list I posted slightly if needed let me know and I’ll look it up and share but I think I posted it in a later post in journal.
There are many ways to do this and I’m always tinkering but this should give you some ideas.
Not all things I added are necessarily needed but I had most. The main change is rice hulls and pumice for better drainage etc. and I added more of the 3.0 mix than build a soil states because I’m goin* to reuse it over and over.
It had been awhile since I mixed up soil as was off 2 1/2 years so forgot it had to cook for 3-4 weeks to be ready for plants.
Another way is to mix 1/2 the bag of soil with the build a soil 3.0 mix (about 3.0 lbs per 1.5 cu ft soil is what they recommend so using all 3Lbs in 1/2 bag of soil) put that at bottom (super soil) and it will cook while plant is growing down roots etc and the top of pot just use the other half of the bag of soil so you can plant into it right away.
I worked at Lowe’s first in the garden dept while I was still growing and they nor Home Depot will have the things you’ll want to use for building a soil that you can get from sources in this business other than the peat moss if you make your own soil with compost and the lava rock.
Be gotten things from them here and there but they really aren’t a great source in my opinion.
Anyway thought I’d share with you what I just put and am putting together for this run.
