Organic Living Soil Indoor Winter Round

Alright its time to get into the winter indoor run… i will admit… im already in week one of flower, so this is just a flower journal.

All organic recycled living soil using topdressing, compost/compost tea and knf inputs. Running three Italian Ice clones, each in their own 65 gallon pot of recycled living soil that has 5+ cycles already in it. All the soil was amended with Green Mountain Veg topdressing before transplanting, one pot with juat recycled soil, one pot with rabbit manure added and one pot with goat manure added. Doing this to test possible options for future rounds.

The middle plant had to be replaced due to a spit stem, but its replacement is keeping pace.

And here I thought my 30 gallons pots were big hahahhaah,
Mind if I ask you a question? How do you deal with roots?

These are definitely big pots lol, but with a purpose!! They are also some used pots from our outdoor runs.

As far as dealing with the roots go, compost! We add compost and compost teas to our soil on the regular and this takes care of breaking down any old roots throughout the grow and after. After harvesting the soil is prettyvwell root free and broken down afte 2-4 weeks, to the point of just pulling out the old stalk and planting right in.

Thanks I’m looking into growing the way you are doing and didn’t have a clear idea on how to take care of the old roots without digging into the soil :call_me_hand:t2:

Compost will really help with so much of the organic process from start to finish! Aways happy to answer any questions

Spraying the trio down with some of our pumpkin fpj that we made a few weeks back using pumpkins from our own patch. Will water some in on their next watering tomorrow or the next day.
10 ml FPJ per gallon
10 ml BRV per gallon
Pinch n’ a half of Agisil 16h

Pumping fpj?

I do the same. Roots and defol go into recycled soil and breakdown to recharge. Worms love em too…

That’s the plan @ChittyChittyBangin

Its fermented pumpkin juice. Its an excellent source for micro and macro nutients. Something i havent had the time to get into. But this winter… look out!

Thanks :call_me_hand:t2::call_me_hand:t2:

Not a whole lot has changed other than some stretching and filling the tent up as we wrap up week 2 since flip, preflowers are coming, cover crop is growing right along and its about time to get some more compost action going. For my next watering, which is today, i will take a couple lbs of compost and let it soakn in my water with a few stirs for about 45 minutes, letting all the humics, biology and micronutrients leech into the water make a super simple compost brew to keep the soil thriving and the plants happy.

This is a great way to keep up the composting activities in the soil, breaking down nutrients, help prevent pathogens and grow healthier plants. This brew is also great for floiar sprays when in veg stages or rooted clones. Perfect for qhen you dont have enough compost or room in your pot to topdress compost.

Was topdressing and defoliation day yesterday, with today being the end of week 3. I topdressed with 2 cups per pot of Back Road Blooms along with a couple tbs of Yucca powder to help maintain moisture and uptake. Everything was topped of with a few inches of soil before I defoliated, chop and dropping on the leaves for mulch.
