Opinion from peoples with Medical or Recreational despensaries?

I dont know if its just my old bud man stoner opinion >>>> But Seems to me that my Homegrown is better than the weed Im getting from the Despensarie???
Even when I buy the high quality 30+ % THC ?? Im not trying to be a conspiracy nutcase. But it seems to me that THC percentage documented may be B.S. ?? Allot of Combined THCA numbers?
I honestly am starting to realize that I get a better Buzz with my Homegrown. Now I just need to time my grows so I have enough Homegrown to smoke. Does anyone else think I may be correct? Even though the buds look incredible, great strains, great THC numbers, Buzz is questionable??

Many of the members have expressed similar views. I don’t have any experience with dispensary weed. The couple of people that I have given weed to have told me that mine exceeds the dispensary weed in flavor and potency.

Am I being Ripped off??

I wouldn’t say ripped off. It is just that we can grow better at home for cheaper.

What is better for you home grown veggies or store bought…same with weed… :bat:

Dispensary dope is mass-produced and volume-focused, whereas most of us home growers tailor our weed to our personal preferences, from germination to curing and everything in between, so it stands to reason that we can do it better.

Every plant in my tent is grown with love and gets preferential treatment but commercial growers are all about profit. Everyone I know grows better weed at home than the dispensaries.

By the time the flower reaches the dispensary, most of the goodies have been robbed for other things.. they take their flower and stretch it out to make the most profit. On top of that, the way its harvested and cured is sketchy also.

I’ve got medical Marijuana for the last 2 years and will say hands down dispensary flower is hit and miss, but none of it stands aside by side with homegrown by someone who loves and takes care of them. So in preferred taste and high, homegrown wins.

That goes without saying, but it doesn’t mean that “commercial” and “profit” are dirty words. Commercial growers target the retail medical/recreational distributors and their consumers, most of whom don’t want to hassle with growing their own.

No different than producing your own meat, fruit, veggies, and staples vs.paying someone else to do it so you can grab it a the grocery store.

I think everything has been covered well by everyone already but look up the falsified results from labs doing the testing and certification, especially in States that have long running medicinal or recreational programs. California and Washington have had to rescind or sanction a number of labs for falsifying THC levels and pesticide/mold contamination. Dispensaries know THC levels sell so it’s no surprise they’ll use laboratories that play loose with their analyses. I worked in a lab for 12 years at my past job, and if I play with the calibration on a Mass Spec GC analyzer, fudge my sample weights I can “find” you a few percentage points by not following standard procedures. Look up the dispensary in Washington who’s handwritten note was found telling the lab if a sample doesn’t 'test" a certain THC value, they need a retest. For the love of money the song says. good thing we’re part of a site focused on helping us grow the best, safest bud around!

I didn’t mean they were bad words. Only that a commercial grow isn’t done with the same love as a homegrow

I always say growing weed is like baking a cake.
Sure, you can bake cakes on a commercial scale, but where is the love shown.

Nothing beats grandma’s cake. Its filled with love and care.

Love and care for your weed, and the results speak for themselves.

(I even play music for my plants) (They love classical, I prefer something heavier myself though)

Our state just became legal two years ago. For the most part the dispensaries had garbage weed. Some worse than others but for the most part a lot of non-smelling non-cured weed in the dispensaries. I think that was due to Growers getting the weed to the dispensaries as fast as they could to meet the demand.

Nowadays, (2 years later) the weed in the dispensaries for the most part is pure :fire: fire. You’re always going to have that marketing BS dispensary that exists. You’ll learn to eliminate them. Our dispensaries now have weed that you can smell for 2 miles in a little 1/8 jar.

And have literally run the OG’s out of business. It’s not about good cannabis. It’s all about marketing and making money. The guys that went to jail and fought for decades for legalization have been run right out of the game.

I agree home grown is way better that being said im in NY and the bud we get is all prepackaged and freezdried quality and prices vary from brand to brand wildly I’ve bought $25 that were good/great and I’ve bought $50 eights that were complete trash I find the companies that package they’re products in glass jars tend to be better quality pluss I get a little glass jar
I have had some in those plastic foil bags that were good too honestly the thing about getting bud from the dispensary is its like getting bud from a street dealer you might get straigh fire or you might get trash you wont really know till you try the brand

Here medical dispensary flower in Pennsylvania.

Y’all can make your decisions but in TN can buy exactly the same flower at a vape shop or dabs bar.

In my state almost everything at the dispensary is autoflower garbage not grown to full potential. Picked early for profit over quality. Its all overpriced and cannot be seen as it in packaging or sealed jars in boxes. It all seems to smell the same, if it smells at all and is too dry. None of it tastes like the blueberry, strawberry or whatever flavor it advertised.

I find myself only wanting there infused joints, moonrocks or hash.

In addition I’m told these West coast varietys are not working out in Dixie. Many a new grow here was full of spider and hemp russet mites before they could blink. Mold is the number one issue here due to extreme humidity levels and i have tasted that old familier mold taste in more than one jar of dispo weed.
